There is a reason you don’t see many All-State Express vans on the road.

I wouldn't know any of those reasons, and you didn't present one. I'm merely trying too help a young fella out with what i see in EO classifieds.

I just read an article on here about how they shifted their focus to general tractor trailer freight since the van market is so saturated, so yeah not going to waste my time there.

Do appreciate the help tho

Since you don’t work our segment of trucking andi don’t expect you to know the quirks of our segment of trucking, the ones in expediting would know what is wrong with that company and as what was stated by the OP that the van market is saturated and they are concentrating on tt instead of cheap freight for the vans.

:)... You may have missed a few of my posts since I first joined. I have 5 ST class D trucks, and I have posted several times, or maybe just twice, that cargo Vans are highly over saturated. Now my Husband only has TT's.....
Though The young man ( the OP ) is not very familiar with expediting, that is why he asks so many questions. I have never leased a truck to All States, so even I wouldn't know, let alone the OP. Though I have to say, when you wrote "vans", I do tend to think of 48-53' trailers, not cargo vans.;)

Glad I could help in any way I could.... I may have mentioned it before, you may want to consider Expediter Services out of South Haven, Mississippi? They offer a path to ownership program ( PTO ) They will be at the expo also. You'd probably have to run team depending on experience.... the recruiter would give you more info. I did send a gal their way about a year ago, she seemed to have a good experience. No Cargo Vans. They currently have a Peterbilt ( for sale by owner ) listed on their site.... Its a C unit with Fedex currently I was told when I called on it. 28k or best.... I think it is also listed in the classified section here on EO.
Maybe there is more info from others here that went that route..... I dunno, though I think I read somewhere, that its reputable.
FYI.... there were 13 cargo vans at the old Detroiter ( a flying J now ) this morning, approx 1030 am EST. I didn't see a ST. Unless they were parked in the back 40. This is a common site, even during the week.... I75/exit 32 Michigan.

13 is pretty light for the Detroiter :D
Straights do park in the back, or until they get chased out of the front ;)

The cargo van market is over saturated but basing it on van count by driving by a truck stop is a common mistake. Vans are parked out front and usually grouped together, especially at the Detroiter where they are all parked in a nice straight row. I agree with Road Time that 13 vans is pretty light but maybe not for a Saturday. I would guess there were probably more expedite straight trucks at the Detroiter than cargo vans but one would have to do some looking, not just a drive-by.

Oh...for sure.... I wasn't attempting to exaggerate, just speaking of what I witness.... That is my home exit, and the Blue Beacon is my truck wash....

EDIT: I don't park there.... as I said, the ST's may be in the back 40...but the CV's are always in front, easier to count. But I've witnessed this in many areas/truckstops over 15 plus years.... I started in CV, 1992....I was a pup than.....with CTX

These quoting a quote who was quoting a quote things are starting to get super long.

Yes, tried them, same thing, credit history not long enough. Wish i started getting credit when i was 18 but i was wrapped around this fantasy of "ill just only buy what i can afford to pay for fully" but that doesn't really work with starting a business. But oh well as of now its not that extensive. Maybe once i have a van or 2 paid off ill give their program a shot, if i need it by that time anyway.

Also ive been at the detroiter when there were plenty more than 13 vans and always got a same day load. Even on sunday one time. Detroits great spot for a van imo.

Hmmmm, My take was that a driver was contracted for a period of time...maybe a year, ES monitored your performance, which is the PTO program....after a year +/- you would finance a ST thru them. The carrier you ran with would send money to ES and they would deduct payments. They were going to get their $ first. I think they are connected with 5 carriers???? That seems like a solid way to build up a history, not just credit.

Thats awesome i hope to follow if your footsteps.
Thanks, but don't follow too close. I do my own thing that works best for me. We all have different goals and aspirations which makes expedite trucking appeal to a variety of people. Like Big Stick said in another thread:
"Exactly the reason to expedite".
