Not sure that would be a good idea. Here come a thousand messages and calls... why am I on reserve. What did you bid? What did customer say? Did we get it? I think it would take up time that they should be using to work on booking loads honestly. We already get a ton of that on the today filter on the app. I have even considered taking that feature off of there to be honest.

Been stewing a little over the whole reserve thing since Thursday.
I get a call on a nice run that they had if interested, (of course I was) but was then informed I was currently on reserve. This was news to me, since no one had called on this mystery load. Apparently, they didn't wait long to see if the bid load fell through, as I ended up with nothing.

Maybe they called before realizing the "reserve" status, IDK. But it seems like a guaranteed load should over ride a bid load I had no knowledge of. Especially, when you have been sitting for a while.

I guess that's called...logistics

If people got a DING! notification on their phone every time they were put on reserve, they'd throw the phone out the window after a few hours. :eek:

It’s a tricky thing. We can quote a customer and they will say...ok hold the truck for ten minutes I will be right back to you. Then if we don’t hold the truck and give it to customer two customer one is furious. We will review what happened on this one Monday.

That’s is one of the hardest battles to fight. When things are good, no one even things about ‘being on reserve”. But when we hit a slow streak, or get stuck for a couple of days. Well, then we tend to find all kinds of problems with the system. The same program that will have you running your butt off one week, is the same one we all blame when we have no Load.

My concern is rooted in previous carrier experience.....which isn't really beig fair to Load1 as they don't behave that way....but they would put you on reserve, without you knowing or agreeing to the load and then...the kicker, would forget to take you OFF reserve. The "off" process was manual and relied on a dispatcher remembering to do it.....and of course they never got busy and forgot things...or went home. If the L1 process is different or automatic then it doesn't matter.

But when you have memories of calling in and asking why you had no load opportunities for 3 days....and hearing you were put on reserve...4 days ago... and still were on reserve....that unfortunately kinda sticks with you....even though you moved on to a waaaay better carrier. ;)

Day 6, I feel lucky today

Today's episode...

The mystery of the Cadillac Escalade stretch limousine.

It arrived on Friday. Parked in the worse spot, partially blocking the drive-thru lane. No activity since its arrival.

Is it just being parked, or will dead occupants be found?

Either way, the owner will not be happy as the rear window was left 1/4 open, and as I mentioned, it's been rainy.

Sitting, does make the mind wonder

Picking up in the morning in Hampton, VA going to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery. Already looking forward to the "extreme vetting" they do in Kittery. :innocent:

I’m a foreign national or invader or whatever the scary term is and need to follow an escort vehicle onto the premises. Of course they’ve usually disappeared upon my unloading leaving me to the run of the place.
