Over their leader's objections a U.S. House Democrat filed articles of impeachment some time ago. It went nowhere. Now additional Democrats have added charges and filed new articles. That effort will also likely go nowhere for now. I share this link to the Articles to show what the final document will eventually resemble. When the impeachment initiative begins in earnest, these and other charges will be debated.

Movement toward impeachment continues to build. Before, very few Republicans would publicly criticize Trump. A greater number freely do so now, and they do so with excoriating words. The Trump base is fraying around the edges as his major campaign promises remain unfulfilled. Articles are being written and added to. If the political will develops to proceed with impeachment, it will not be a lack of charges that keeps it from moving forward.

Impeachment is a political act, not a legal one.
Over the years, Rep. Steve Cohen (a Memphis Democrat) has been the source for plenty of liberal nonsense but his impeachment initiative linked in the above post may be his zenith. Rather than read through the entire 25 pages of political prattle, one only has to scroll directly to page 25 to get an idea of the substance (or lack thereof) which forms the basis of his "high crimes and misdemeanors"; Trump's tweets.
25
On October 11, 2017, Donald J. Trump also tweeted,
1
‘‘Network news has become so partisan, distorted and fake
2
that licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, re-
3
voked. Not fair to public!’’.
4
On October 11, 2017, Donald J. Trump told report-
5
ers in the Oval Office, ‘‘It is frankly disgusting the way
6
the press is able to write whatever they want to write, and
7
people should look into it.’’.
8
In all of this, Donald J. Trump has sought to under-
9
mine the freedom of the press guaranteed by the First
10
Amendment to the Constitution, brought disrepute on the
11
Presidency, and has acted in a manner subversive of con-
12
stitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause
13
of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people
14
of the United States.
15
Wherefore Donald J. Trump, by such conduct, war-
16
rants impeachment and trial, and removal from office.
IMHO if this is what "momentum toward impeachment" looks like, we should all have a better understanding of the verb "glacial" as it refers to movement.

For 8 years the Obama Christmas cards were blazoned with a festively inoffensive to anyone "Seasons Greetings!" or an equally tepid "Happy Holidays!" or just a picture of Bo the dog in the snow with no real mention of anything much at all.

Not this year.

During the Obama years, the exterior was decorated, of course, and a little less than a third of the interior rooms and hallways, mainly the most visited rooms and hallways.

Not this year.

They've even got The Nutcracker going on in the Grand Foyer, with music provided by the Marine Band.

Yes, The nutcracker. I wouldn't be kidding about something like that.

Hopefully private donations pay for all this??
53 Christmas trees, 71 Christmas wreaths, more than 18,000 lights, more than 12,000 ornaments and thousands of yards of ribbon and garland. And more than 150 volunteers from 29 states spent 1,600 hours over the holiday weekend.

It's the People's House, soooo the people pay for it.

Except this year many of the decorations were donated (they also have a bunch of decorations from previous Christmases in storage that they reuse), and they worked out a deal with HGTV who filmed the decorating for a special, so the overall costs were pretty much covered.

Fiscal responsibility is a campaign talking point. Just like abortion, it gets people emotionally involved. Once the powers that be get into office .. fiscal responsibility goes out the window!

Who is going to finally stand up for our country, it's citizens & lead us in the right direction? When is the last time anyone meaningful mentioned the deficit? When is someone going to make the HARD decisions to turn us around?

Anyone buying this tax plan will do it? I'm not ... more of the same. Incrementally the wealthy keep getting more ... while the middle keeps eroding ..
