I think you'll find that most companies require (or at least strongly suggest) having haz mat which requires a CDL. Also it makes it a lot easier to require a CDL for the fleet than to make exceptions.

Msinger, I'm curious about the size of the cargo you have had. Are there any times where you have taken more than 3 skids?

What about using a cube box van instead.

Actually I wonder if this correct considering that some companies are not accepting vans and offering these loads to trucks instead. Just a thought.:)

Thanks Terry for your help. I have seen these cube vans with dual rear wheels and I think that means the manufacturers stick with will GVWR over 10001 lbs. Am I mistaken?

I've seen several 12ft cutaway vans being used as a option to sprinters mostly with Landstar. I talked to one of the drivers and was told that because of having under 10,000 GVWR that he didn't have to log. He said that he had been driving for 1 1/2 years and never had a DOT issue or question...

I've used Sprint with Futuredial software and found it worked pretty well. I would suggest you look for a cable that also charges your phone from the computer battery. By doing this you will recharge your phone while online. Hope this helps!!!
