I'm not a truck owner, just curious as to what goes into the decision to replace a truck. Is that decision based on mileage, repairs starting to add up, carrier requirements, tax reasons, all of the above, etc?
You find an owner here on EO or through a carrier, do you send a resume and do an in-person interview or phone or Skype?
What about references? Do owners give out contact info on current/previous drivers?
Does the driver get to inspect the truck beforehand or does the owner just send photos? (if...

That was in the early '80s. I was a civilian contractor on an Army base. The last 17 years I've been driving a desk as a systems, network and security administrator, most recently as a Cybersecurity Engineer as a contractor with the Federal Government in a windowless building.
