A new driver just started driving a straight truck for me as I am considering a second truck for wife and I. In 2500 miles driven he is getting 7.5 - 7.7 MPG I personally drove the same truck for 6000 miles prior to him and I got almost 9.5 average MPG. Worst tank I ever got was 8.6 MPG...

UPDATE: Picked truck up today from Freightliner service. They replaced the Secondary air tank saying it had a bad valve that was internal and required tank change out.

I'm not on flat rate but on percentage program 59.5%. As for FDCC flat rate program it's $1.00 plus fsc so at today's fsc that would be $1.30 flat rate for comparison in this conversation.

That makes sense. But I think this is just expanded details. I still see a huge problem in those that bid or accept runs at these unprofitable rates and think it ultimately will ruin the expedite industry for the owner operators.
