Mid America Trucking Show 2010
What a great time we had it is hard to believe it is over for another year. We were able to see people we had seen for a year and also to meet a lot of new people. We met drivers, engineers, OOIDA board members, people looking to get back into the business, and people just looking.
I have a few pet peeves and one of them is someone trying to tell about a really, really stupid show they just watched. Now my thinking is if it is so stupid why are you telling me about it? I do not like TV to begin with and this is one of the reasons.
Each weekend I look forward to doing the laundry. NOT! We can go two weeks if we have to, but I much prefer to out laundry done and not spend all day doing it. Some of the truck stops have really nice washers and dryers and others are worse than a hole in the wall.
How we attend MATS
We are preparing to head towards MATS for the 2010 truck show in Louisville, KY. We are hoping for a load going in that direction, but if no load comes through we are going anyway. This will be our fifth year to attend the show and each year we enjoy the show even more than the year before.
Winter is back
I thought we were out of the white stuff and I felt pretty confident about this as were heading south and planning on staying in the south for a few weeks. We felt pretty good in the eighty degree weather in Texas and even found some warmth in Ohio. Then the heat was gone.
Spring is in the air!
We are finally out of the snow and ice! I am hoping that we have seen the last of the white stuff for this year. I feel as if we have been lucky this year as we missed all of the ice. We have had snow and lots of that, but no ice!
I found myself having a pity party yesterday afternoon that lasted into this morning before I was able to straighten myself out! I do not let myself get into a funk and wallow around in my quagmire of self pity as I really am pretty good at it and I could get better with practice.
Girl Scout Cookies
We were able to participate in a special project this past year that has been very different than anything we have done before. We were told that for the project we would need our lift gate and we would be delivering to several residences. Delivering to houses is much different than delivering to a dock.
Walking to the Principal's Office
I still have not got over my fear at a scale house when the sign says go around back driver and bring in your paperwork. When I see this sign my heart sinks and I start wondering what in the world have I done wrong now and what will the scale master say?
Throwing yourself at life
I was talking to Henry Albert the other day about how in the world do I get involved in so much? I just figured I could not say no. Too many things peek my interest and I end up saying yes.
