Good evening and thanks for reading.
I want to first thank everyone that has followed us on Panther's website, Twitter, Facebook (check out the new photos) and EO. We really do appreciate all the support we have and continue to receive from the people that understand what we are trying to do out here. In addition to Toys or Tots ($1,200 so far) we have also gained a much deeper understanding of how the decisions we make at corporate impact the Panther O/O community. As a result, we plan on bringing up the lessons learned out here at our corporate strategy session next week. Thank you as well to the drivers that have reached out to us via email and phone. Good conversations with great people. Please go to the Panther website for the contact information if you are interested.
So back to the road...Finally made it to Rockford, IL at the end of a long day. The last 24 hours have been very interesting. As we discussed on Twitter yesterday we moved to Louisville after POD'ing in Nashville after dispatch said we would have a better chance to get a load there.
We didn't get a load immediately but that was OK. We used the time to visit a few customers in the area and thank them for the past business. Dispatch put us on a load that picked up 60 miles away that went to Rockford. We have to give a special shout out to Mike Stapleton and the Qualcomm team for getting our unit fixed enroute when we stopped for lunch. Something technical was wrong with the unit that our CIO couldn't fix. Sometimes I feel like I am driving with a mechanic that can't fix a car. Only kidding - he has done a lot of great things.
The drive took a bit longer than expected as the weather was really bad (wind, snow, cold) so we really drove slow and safe. We stopped for dinner in Merrillville, IN. I love Indian food and we found a great one right off the highway. I highly recommend Taste of India if you are in the area.
Time to get some rest. Our goal is to raise at least $2,000 for Toys for Tots so that is $800 over the next few days.
Thanks again for reading. Take care out there and thanks again for all your support. Andy and Ed
