What do we do when we end up with 4 days off? When I used to have my 9 to 5 job I always looked forward to the holidays and days off. Now I am not so partial to the holidays and I do not really care for days off!

I really had fun at GATS and people in our group had their pictures taken with some really inspiring people. I do a VERY good job of staying behind the camera in most instances. I am amazed at how many people we know in the trucking industry and I enjoy seeing them at these shows.

While at the Great American Truck Show is Dallas, TX our organization, The Trucking Solutions Driver Health Council, was invited to tour The Cooper Institute. Todd Whitthorne, CEO Cooper Concepts gave us a private tour of the facilities ending with an awesome lunch in a secluded dining room.

I was honored at the Great West Truck Show for my accomplishment of walking 1000 miles in a year. I use a Nike + to verify my miles walked, time spent walking, and my average speed. I walked all over the United States and Canada on great trails and around truck stops.

How many times do we run into the situation where the computer tells us what to do and we blindly follow? Many times a computer will me the location of a road that in reality, is nonexistent. The cash register also rules as it appears most workers cannot give change correctly without being told how.

When this year started we had no clue we would attend four truck shows and four workshops. It seems that since March we have attended one event after another and keep meeting ourselves coming and going. Next year we are cutting back! Enough is Enough!

Once again our group “The Trucking Solutions Driver Health Council” will be converging on the Great American Truck Show in Dallas! We will be walking on Saturday and we are hoping to have twice as many walkers as we did at the Mid America Truck Show in March.

I had an interesting conference call this past week. We are members of The Trucking Solutions Group and we were lucky enough to have two brand new people to trucking join our conference call. This new couple has not yet attended orientation but they do have a date.

We never know what we are going to see from day to day. We came around a corner andt here sat this amazing plane that we have read about and seen pictures of but have never seen in person. It is easy to see where the plane gets its nickname!

We recently learned and then purchased what we call a sliver of insurance. We have been the victim of having a pickup stolen. The shock of coming outside and seeing that your vehicle is gone is something I have never recovered from.
