A pair of highway and freight research groups is seeking input from truckers about the tradeoffs involved with using or avoiding toll roads.
The survey, which is anonymous and takes just a few minutes to complete, is being conducted by two groups for a Transportation Research Board study. They are the National Cooperative Freight Research Program and the National Cooperative Highway Research Program.
The groups asked OOIDA to notify members of the survey, which is titled “Truck Tolling – Understanding Industry Tradeoffs When Using or Avoiding Toll Facilities.”
Survey takers are asked about company size, type of operation, trip routing, toll payment and reimbursement. Participants are then asked to agree or disagree with statements regarding tolling, such as “toll roads are expensive” and “toll roads generally have less traffic than non-tolled alternatives.”
