It's a Team's Life

Time to think about the heat of summer.

As we head for the house at this time of year we remove most of our winter gear from the truck, including blankets, extra coats, hats, scarves, ice scrapers, and even my shoe chains.  It is amazing how much more room we have in the sleeper without all of winter clothing and warm weather paraphernalia.

Our down comforter stays in the truck all year.  The down that keeps us warm in the winter also keeps us cool in the summer.  Down comforters are highly breathable and wick moisture away from the skin and will help to keep us from over heating.  What I enjoy most about the down comforter is that Bob is always cold and I am always hot and the down in the comforter keeps us both comfortable in the heat or the cold.

Comforters are easy to care for and the less we wash it the longer the down comforter will last.  Give it a good shake in the morning and make the bed.  A side benefit is that the comforter is very light and does not weigh heavily on our feet.

Another item that we use every day when stopped is our fan.  When it came time to purchase our fan we stood in the fan isle and tried out every fan to see which put out the most air and was the quietest.  The fan we use now has been on the road with us for ten years and still purrs away and keeps us cool.

Often all we need is the fan stirring up the air to keep us cool and not have to run the air conditioner.  Both items are a must in our sleeper.   When our air conditioner shuts down as it has reached the pre set temperature the sleeper will immediately become stifling and the fan keeps that from happening.
