Nice Cans !

Where have all the nice cans gone? I look around, but there seems to be a shortage of them lately. I remember when a couple of big cans could be found anywhere. It’s nice to run across a couple of nice cans at the truck stop fuel island or in parking lots. I find everything's better with a few nice cans around.

Alright, get your mind out of the gutter, I’m talking about garbage cans! They used to be everywhere. Overflowing, maybe, but they were there. Did everyone use them, no, of course not. Seeing garbage strewn around truck stops and parking lots, is not something the property owner wants to see. Nor do I.

I have been noticing lately that there is a shortage of garbage cans at truck stops. Did they just decide not to put them out since so many were not using them anyway ? There still seems to be garbage cans near the fuel islands, but not so many around the parking lots. Maybe management cut back on custodial duties?

The next time you are at a truck stop, look around. Do you notice a shortage of garbage cans? When you can’t find one, what do you do with your trash?  Maybe the places where I notice the shortage are in the process of getting new ones to replace all the ones you see getting run over in the parking lots. Maybe they are just tired of replacing them.

Whatever the reason for the missing garbage cans, I say “ Bring back the Nice Cans !” And by nice cans, I mean nice and empty, not overflowing.

For those who just throw your trash on the ground, can you not find a garbage can? Are there not dumpsters at some of your pickups or deliveries? How about rest areas? You can usually find a garbage can there too. If you cannot find a proper place to discard your trash where you are, take it with you to the next stop.

There is no excuse for throwing it on the ground.

Stop running over the ones that are left, get out and move it and then use it.

See you down the road

Greg

Some trash is recycled, some is thrown away, some ends up where it shouldn't end up.
