TravelCenters of America has launched its annual campaign to support the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund, which helps truckers suffering from medical-related financial hardship.

The month-long campaign will run through Aug. 31st at all TA and Petro Stopping Centers. Guests and employees will be invited to make donations. Those who donate $1 will receive a commemorative wristband and those who make a $5 donation will receive a SCF keychain. One hundred percent of all donations will go to SCF.

"We initially got involved with SCF in hopes to help further the only organization, at the time, which was solely devoted to helping truck drivers in need," said Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters. "Six years later, we can successfully say that it has, because of campaigns like these."

TravelCenters has been supporting drivers through SCF since 2010 and the annual campaign marks the largest single donation the Fund receives each year. As of July 2015, the fund has helped more than 1,300 drivers and their families with monthly bills.

"We honestly wouldn't still be here to help drivers in need without this annual campaign," said Donna Kennedy, executive director of SCF. "We are grateful to the customers for their donations; their generosity helps so many of their fellow drivers."

Truckers who are suffering from financial hardships due to medical problems can apply to SCF for assistance at www.truckersfund.org.
