Unarmed man shot in back

An unarmed man was shot in the back multiple times by a police officer. It is clear that the man was not a threat so the officer has now been charged with murder. The horrendous media is of course focusing on race rather than what matters. The majority of headlines felt it necessary to call him a black man. Does it really make a difference what color he is? Is it so important that it needs to be in the headline?

The link does have a video toward the bottom of this man being murdered but it will not play unless you click on the video.

Another defenseless black man shot by white cop. Hopefully the race mongers will stay out of Charleston, because this situation looks like a cut and dried case of cold blooded murder. This soon to be ex-cop will probably spend the rest of his life doing hard time in a SC prison. Anyone want to take a guess on how long he will last?

I find it interesting that so many media outlets won't even give a description of a suspect that includes race but yet they can't wait to mention race now.

Looks like a terrible decision by an officer with tragic consequences. The individual didn't pose any threat to him as he was running away. He wasn't armed and didn't pose an immediate threat to the public. No apparent justification. It took less than a week to charge him with murder. It doesn't appear from the facts in the case so far, that this was a racial incident. No need to interject race into this situation.

It is a problem with many of them in the media.

After watching the video, one can't help but wonder if there might be some psychological or mental issues with this cop that are being covered up by the police administrators. There was no reason whatsoever for him to shoot this guy in the back as he was running away. The cop knew who he was and could have arrested him later.

With all this in mind, I'll go back to my point made several times in previous posts: unless and until these police departments start recruiting better quality personnel and paying them a LOT MORE MONEY they will have stupid people in positions of authority carrying deadly weapons, endangering the general public they're supposed to "protect and serve".

Most people don't want to be a cop. It might help a little to pay them more, but probably not much. Most Police Depts. would prefer a college educated recruit, but again, less and less people want to go into Law Enforcement.

Not much going on in here on this shooting. Most are tired and comments do not ever get anything solved, but many like to vent. There are so many killings from ISIS , the Ukraine ,N.Y. , Chicago, Middle East and so on, we are all just numb to it now, imho.

There won't be as much passion or anger involved in this one because there is no room to debate since it was all on video. That cop was total scum and it was pointed out later that it appears the cop planted evidence on the guy after murdering him. I'm not sure how he thought he was going to get away with shooting him in the back several times over a tazer that was no longer a danger since it was no longer usable because it had been deployed.

The officer"s actions have been universally condemned. You are not allowed to shoot a person while they are fleeing, unless they pose an immediate threat of great bodily harm to the officer or the public. The unarmed person was just running away.
It appeared to be a total meltdown by the officer in using proper judgement after initially trying to used the taser.
The officer had to deescalate his force after the individual started running.

Not a good week for cops. These officers were caught beating a suspect that was clearly complying.
