I've ripped a few pallets apart using like devices. the problem arises when the load is heavy and on a well used pallet. When the strap or even chain (Read caution), the device puts too much stress on the wrong areas, and if it moves while shifting the load can literally rip the pallet apart. Then what do you do? The Pallet grabber simply grabs with it's tongs the center piece of wood on a wide/two sided patch of it's surface area. The strap works most of the time, and I've used for a few years, but just be careful!
