Reading a news headline on Drudge Report today that states a religious exemption from participating in the new healthcare mandates will be extending to some sects such as the Amish and Christian Scientists. The article extracted from the Watertown Daily Times.com also points out the Amish have long been exempted from paying Social Security and Medicare taxes. I didn't know the Amish or Christian Scientists wielded such political power. Their congregations might swell with new members soon.
