New DOT physical qualifications start May 21st

I find it hard to believe that a Dr would go to a 1 week class on such a petty change of rules.

Do you balance your straight truck tires?

As long as it rides and drives good, I wouldn't have them balanced now. But I always balanced my steer and drives. I don't remember ever having a new tire on a truck that didn't need balancing. Never bought $1100 tires either, so maybe I have missed out all these years.

    3126 Cat Question

I've had mine do that in cold weather. The intake heater light has even cycled a couple of times in really cold weather. It does throw a yellow check engine light when it does this. I experienced no problems when engine was doing this.

    Idleing a Cat. 3126

There was a certain RPM that mine would cause things to vibrate. I always set mine at a speed that was smooth. It was somewhere around 1000 RPM. May have been under 1000 by a little.

Zipp Express in Gallatin is a straight up company. I ran almost 9 years for them and was happy. Any other questions, PM me. I retired last July, but go by office quite often.

    Respect for the dead?

What you experienced was a big ole helping of "Southern Hospitaility". We will treat you so many ways that you have to like one of them. Seriously, it is "respect", which is taught to us from birth.

My Air compressor governor keeps freezing (3126 setup)

Doesn't matter what will happen when it goes. It will be "where you are" when it goes. Guarantee it won't be at a repair shop. And it will probably be when you are under a load and running a tight schedule. At least that is my luck. It is such a simple and inexpensive repair that putting it off...

What is the average weight of a straight truck load?

The 26000 and under trucks do not require a CDL. Don't know if this is what you heard.

    Been there, done that ...once!

It's pretty obvious that it happens quite frequently. I also read somewhere that the RR has a steel beam across the road in front of the bridge, so the bridge is not being hit. Trucks hit the beam and it saves the bridge. http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/9810394/

    Might be a dumb question

My $700+ radiator for my Pete ST was bought from Truck Pro for $480. Just a thought.

How do I find an air leak ?

If I don't park my truck pretty level, it will bleed the secondary down through the load leveler valve on my air bags. And it is sometimes 50 or 60 lbs overnight. This is normal.

Scary picture from Facebook- Reminder to do your pretrip every time!

I too feel it is a staged picture. It was probably made to be used in a safety program for a company that has lots of trucks. But it is a good reminder for all of us to see.
