Quick update/Promaster insight/Sorting out Future Plans

Some of the best advice I can give to a potential fleet owner is to learn the business yourself first before hiring drivers/buying more trucks. If you are buying a used straight truck, make sure you have money reserves for major repairs when they are needed. A minor/major repair isn't going to...

    Future Sprinters

Mercedes Benz doesn't have to redesign anything. They have had the single wheel 3500 Sprinter in the European market for a few years now. It uses a standard front wheel, but they use a wider rear wheel for the back axle. The single wider wheel is narrower than the dually wheel setup, but has...

The food is not only better taste wise, but its much much healthier than the truck stop or many other restaurants out here on the road. I am blessed to have her as my personal chef.

    Refrigerator help!!! Again

No beer while I am in service and since I only go OOS when I'm at home once every few months, let's just say few and far in between cold beer. We started out with a Sprinter so I know what you mean. I am enjoying the life of luxury now.

    Refrigerator help!!! Again

We checked all of the places we could think of online, prices ranged from $1295 to $1799 for my model. On top of that shipping was $120-$199 for the unit. Rv dealers price was on average about $1599 plus installation. Bolt custom sleepers (Bentz Sleepers) who designed this sleeper can install...

    Refrigerator help!!! Again

Thanks for the info on the Truck fridge. After looking at their site the direct replacement model for our truck is $1395+ shipping. We want one that fits the same hole that the Norcold is in, that way we don't have to modify the sleeper. Bolt sleepers has the direct replacement Norcold for less...

    Refrigerator help!!! Again

Just to answer some questions .... The fridge has a manufacture date of 06/09/08. When we pulled the unit out of the cabinet there was dust on top of the unit, but the coils on the back barely had any dust on them. Besides the two rows of coils, all we can see is the compressor and the...

Turtle, you actually made me lol. Considering I am the one who wrote the story, submitted the photo and nominated her, I know it wasn't a dating site. I mean come on its a link to Overdrive Magazine. If folks would take the time to click the link and actually read the article, they wouldn't...

Motion sickness for a newbie team

We use a memory foam mattress, still get a little bouncing, but not as much as an interspring mattress. I also use ear plugs to help drown out the noise. My wife uses ear plugs and found a real comfortable padded sleep mask to cover her eyes. Try to cover your sleeper windows and close the...

    Rigmaster APU problems

All the belts are good, since i replaced the frayed one to the alternator. The safety switch is zip tied/bypassed. It has the metal cooling tank. The error is a Charging Battery Fault, wich leads me to beleive there is eith a short in the Alt or a short in the speed sensor. But seeing as the...

    Rigmaster APU problems

Hey folks, we have a 2007 Sterling with a 960 Bentz sleeper. The truck is equipped with a RigMaster APU and a Magnum industries power inverter. This morning we woke up to the inverter alarm going off and the display read "Battery Charging Failure". The APU shut itself off. After removing the...

    Landing Gear

The truck we have now has 2 17k lb hydraulic rams mounted instead of landing gear. Each ram is individually controlled by a switch, that way you can level out the truck on uneven pavement. The combined 34k lbs lifting capacity of the two rams can even lift up both axles completely off the ground.

    Sprinter van, info, help

Thats good that its a reinforced bulk head. If it was just the pressed sheetmetal one, i personally wouldnt trust it. We hope to experience Alaska one day even if its for a 2week visit.

    Sprinter van, info, help

What do you mean by "level B" ? Also is the bulkhead just the factory one piece sheet metal or does it have extra metal reinforcing it. If you are happy with the space you have thats great. I just noticed you are from AK. With you and your SO wanting to expedite in the lower 48, do you plan...

    Sprinter van, info, help

Bill, if you do a search on here you will find pictures of different van sleeper set ups. When we ran our 2006 long and tall Sprinter, we had a full size bed and still had 9 foot of cargo space. If we needed to haul the occasional 3 skid load the bed would fold up against the drivers side wall...

Let me ask you something. Now what happens when that van you are essentially lease purchasing has a breakdown. Im not even talking about a major breakdown like an engine, trans, or rear end. Im talking about suddently needing a new front end, or needing tires or brakes. A van in the $3500...
