Our truck is basically complete and now we start the tweaking.

In two weeks time we added the ATDynamics Trident Trailer Tail and the Bolt Custom Trucks Flirt Skirts. We have been running the Smart Truck system and now it is time to test it against this configuration. We left the top part of Smart Truck on the box and removed the sides to install the Trailer Tail.

The Flirt Skirts work like the belly boxes on a bus and will be easy to rise while in parked at a truck stop in between trailers. We will add more toolboxes to the rear of the truck behind the skirts as time goes on. The Skirts are easy to open to get into exiting toolboxes as well as to check the tires.

Like truck even better now with Flirt Skirts and Trailer Tail installed. Should be a head turner as you drive. What's your truck number? Couldn't find it in either picture. Think I see something in front of left steer tire?? Saw nothing on back doors..

What kind of mileage increase did the manufacturer expect? Did you use air-tabs at any point? lf so, what change did you see with those?

We have filled seven times since getting the Flirt Skirt and the Trident Trailer Tail with two loads over 10,000lbs which is very uncommon for us. Our average fuel mileage up to having the tail and skirts added is 11.85 and our average with seven fills with TT and skirts is 12.09. The initial savings look something like this figured at 100,000 miles and todays average diesel price of 2.904 will be $486.48. Obviously we are hoping for more then that but time will tell. For someone who is getting nine miles to the gallon moving to 12 mpg gallon truck the savings would be significantly more.

Any update on mileage increase with the skirts? Have you seen an improvement over your initial findings?

Even if there is no more increase, they look great!

Our fuel mileage has increased to 12.117 to day since we have added the Trailer Tail and the skirts.

We have had one dock we could not get into and were able to use our lift gate and pallet jack to unload the freight so that was not a problem.

We have seen no heating problems in our tires or wheels and continue to monitor this.

It may not be a huge improvement from the 12.09, but every little bit counts.

It is always nice to have options.

I was wondering about that. If there is no heating problems after that last heatwave, it sounds like the skirts are a winner.
Speaking of temperatures, I wonder if there will be an ice/snow build up issue inside the skirts in the winter.

The title of this thread could make one wonder if it's about aftermarket parts or something else.
