Is this a good deal?
Is this van a good deal? Do you guys think the mileage is too high for me to take a risk on this van? Any advice from the EO community would be weighed carefully and would also be greatly appreciated.

Re: Is this a good deal?
It's not bad at all. But it depends. I'd want to see the maintenance records. Like, if the brakes and bearings are more than a year old, I'd want to knock $1000 off that price, because you'll probably want to sink another $2000 or so into ensuring that it's ready to go for the road - brakes, bearings, rear end seals, suspension, belts, hoses, water and fuel pumps, etc. When I bought mine ($5000 cash, an '01) it had 196,000 and I immediately put another $3000 for maintenance, most of it preemptive like the belts, hoses, pumps and stuff. Basically, all the things that can go wrong at 200,000 I went ahead and took care of. But i the maintenance records show that a lot of that stuff was recently done, then it's a good price as-is.

Nope not a good deal - too many cup holders.

Re: Is this a good deal?
It's a gasser, according to the vin it is a 6.8l v10 - yeah a stump puller.
It is also a E350 Super Duty so I would expect the price reflects the engnie size (uses a lot of gas) and the super duty status means that it will have less cargo capacity.Greg

Chicks dig cup holders. I don't know what it is about cup holders, but girls gotta haven 'em.
A van like that, with all those cup holders.... it's a veritable chick magnet.

Do you have 48" between those cabinets? You might have to remove at least one of them to fit a standard skid.

Re: Is this a good deal?
Thanks for the responses. Nah i'd have to have the shelving removed before I can use it as an expediter van. Also turtle is right (i'd want to pre-empt a breakdown by replacing all of the things that can wear out at 200k). I might not have enough money to buy the van and be able to operate it safely and legally. It's a shame. The van I just sold as scrap had new rotors, brakes, beefed up suspension, almost all new load range E tires, and an alignment, as well as a tune up. Then the engine blew and it was all for nothing.
Oh, I didn't realize it was a V10. I better scrap my plans for buying this van. The V10's are easy to spot, all you have to do is listen for that sucking noise when you pull into a Flying J parking lot. lol.

Re: Is this a good deal?
I dont mean to sound negative, but was this van originally purchased in California? And, if so,I wouldnt touch it just for the reason of the Extra emissions crap to suit California standards. Then there's the cost of getting it home, also. But it is an extremely clean van that looks like new.And if you want to sell the chrome grill, let me know...lol And the chrome bumpers as well.
