Re: cargoMAXX
thanks for the info. id love to see all gm/ford chassis specs on these as well as the cargo area specs. with a 10,000 gvw chassis, the box design looks to be lighter then the other popular cut-away / hi-cubes i would think you might get 38-4000 lbs of cargo in there, legally.....

The CargoMaxx van and the Vision HCV are two different vehicles made by different manufacturers.

Re: cargoMAXX
IMHO Being a Sprinter booster..I have lost some umph with them..I wish they would have the 5 cyl option. The new ones are lucky to get 19-21 MPG, whereas the pre 07's are getting around 22-25 mpg...
The good thing is dealers are now willing to dicker..I've heard numerous times of 07/08's on sale as low as the $35,000 range.Jack Berrys van still for sale!! Great price NOW! $20,000....see link to contact

Re: cargoMAXX
Moot open this link:
CFF Sales and Leasing 2009 Cargo Maxx 600
It shows the rear Wheel "Tubs" simiular to those on a 1ton dually pickup and a few other pics of both the single and dual rear wheel trucks...And yes it lloks like they are using the heavy cut away chassis, the big 10,000 lb gvw chassis for the pictures and then maybe added the whell tubs or fender extentions for the dual rear wheel application. i would think the single wheel may actually use a 9200 lb gvw (i may be wrong on the actual gvw rating, but it is close) cut away, but the dual wheel should be the 10,000 lb...now if it is the 12,000 lb RV chassis, all bets are off, id not be interested...if i am going to have to log, it will be in a straight truck ....Last edited by chefdennis; 07-03-2009 at 09:31 AM.

Re: cargoMAXX
Thanks Chef! I tried to find some specs like GVWR and inside dimensions, zilch. In the photos the 6000 appears to be wider than the Vision HCV. At least toward the top. I am still intrigued by the wheels on the SRW version. I'm wondering if both the SRW and DRW versions picutred are the same van but with the duals and fender extensions added for the DRW photo.
I sent a p.m. to cargomaxx and am hoping for more info in the future. This could be a nice van for expediting.

Re: cargoMAXX
Moot, I have an e-mail into them to try and get the GM /ford chassis specs as well as the comolete box dimensions. I too thought maybe that both vans were the same one and prototypes, but if you look the dual wheel van has the chrome grille and dual headlamps and the single has the black duraplas grille and single headlamps...so they are 2 different vans...but that doesn't mean the single wheel van wasn't built on a dual wheel chassis for the purpose of getting one together..
and yea the dual wheel van does look like it is wider above the body line... but the responce from the rep that both vans have 52.7 in dimension between the wheelwells makes me think the wider body look is just the photo angle affect...
I hope to get the specs soon, i am interested. And i also know where there are a handful of new 2008 gm 10,000 gvw cut aways in a GM van pool company that can be had for a steal...need to work all angles to get a truck as cheap as possible....There are people in need of help. Re: cargoMAXX
Good mileage is do able in the 07 and up, I average 28 MPG which is 23 US MPG. Somedays it drops to 21.5 US and somedays I can get 25 US, depends a lot on the wind.
That said, I am still very interested in this unit. I almost bought a Vision but was un satisfied with the length. This thing looks pretty cool. Hopefully there is at least 16 feet from behind the seat to the rear door.
Should be cool also as GM vans get the 6 speed transmission for 2010 (the 6L90 not the Allison).

Re: cargoMAXX
I completely missed the grills! Saw the wheels and focused on that.
Or possibly those wheels in conjunction with a certain tire rating could give this van a 10,000# GVWR which would be really cool!
I thought both vans looked wider about half way up. ??????

Re: cargoMAXX
Piper, was the Allison transmission ever available in a van? I know GM had to castrate the original Duramax to get it to fit into a van because there was not enough room when it was mated to the Allison.
A 6 speed transmission sounds great! Especially since cutaway chassis and probably this Cargomaxx come with a 4:10 gear ratio.

Re: cargoMAXX
I think the the body above the mid body line is wider then the standard cargo van because the upper body panels go straight up verses the curve of the factory side upper panels. So yea both vans appear wider from the mid body line up. I didn't think about the bigger tire for the increase in gvw on the single wheel chassis. There is defintely the bigger ft wheels and the rear wheels are the type used in the dual wheel setup also.....it has been to long since my chevy truck sales days, I am not sure if the dual wheel setup uses the same rear axle as the single wheel with just the addition of the dual wheels.....
You are right a 10,000 lb single wheel would be great..
So come on CARGOMAXX, get us the complete info....
Dang, and i said i wouldn't by another NEW GM PRODUCT.....There are people in need of help. Charity is one of the nobler human motivations.
