Opps, windshield cracked!

The recent ice storm coupled with our need to keep warm was too much for the windshield to bear. It developed an 18 inch vertical crack coming up from the center.

My question: Will DOT have a problem with this?

I had a similar crack in my auto winshield and the Virginia inspector said it was not a problem since the crack was not in my line of vision.

I would be happy to put off changing this windshield until warmer weather comes around, but I don't want it to cause any hassle with The Man.

my windshield cracked and i waited then a big iceball hit it and gave me another crack and then a big hawkdive bombed me and cracked me again.for all the perfect people thats three windshields .now these cracks were in the middel and right sideso it did not interfear with my vision but that new one is really appreciated.

In my haste I forgot to do a search so I just kicked myself.
I am going to take a nap before I click on the Turtle post, I want to make sure I have plenty of energy to make it through.
