Reefer is still down
Yup ya herd right every since the 18th of June my reefer has been at Carrier in Richfield Ohio.
Supposedly Tom there has had Carrier big wigs Rep Super Master Tecs from Carrier them selves to look at it.
They thus far have no Idea whats wrong. Even after hooking up there computers. Hmmm
Well all agree its not the compressor. Any case Im pulling a dry Box. Till they can figure it out. I told the Boss enough is enough This comming week Im going to get Jenny and take her to Chester VA. Far as Im concerned Richfield never fixed her during the first go around.
Sigh sorry to vent I just miss my JENNY!!!!!!!!
any way after 2 3/4 years who wouldnt miss your equipment
and the dry loads realy geesh how can some one make a liven out here. I may have had a drybox when I first worked for the boss but when I got the reefer it all changed.
better pay. Now back to square 1.
As I stated this comming week Ill going to go get her. As far as Im concerned they never fixed her in the first place and it cost me 1950 bucks. On serious note I dont need excusess I need it fixed So I hope they best bout be been busy and do the Job.
Also I suggest everyting U all stated here to Tom he said nope. Nope Nope. Thanks for listening.
sigh.

Re: Reefer is still down
Do you own the thing?
If not maybe it is time to just ask for a replacement. With the amount of reefers on the used equipment market, finding one is not a problem.
AND I would not even consider the compressor as a problem, it sounds like a probe or control module problem (and related wiring) because there really is anything left out of the two, the unit works on sensing pressure and/or temperature and is all controlled by the control module.

Re: Reefer is still down
Is it a Multi-Temp unit?
Have they checked the temp sensor and its wiring harness in the trailer?
Sounds to me that this sensor which sends a temp reading to the computer which instructs the engine/compressor to heat or cool is bad. Depending on age of unit it may have worn away the insulation on a wire and it shorted out. Especially since it is hanging @ 40* it tells me that the sensor is sending a set signal and it is bad.

Re: Reefer is still down
Well Sir no I dont own her.
2ndly no she not a split or multi unite.
Now Ive been out running since my last post pulling a dry box and now that the Truck itself is OOC due to a Compressor problem Needs a new Air Compresor Im at the Petro in Borden town. any case I got a call from Tom in Richfield and finaly finaly I say since the 18th of June now on the 8th of July they say its the comperessor and a Radiator and are waiting on the boss to get the funds to fix 4000 bucks. Sigh. after I got that call I deliverd in VT a load of metal. Well got down to Jersey and found that I got a bad air compresor and anit lock break mech on the Tractor so Ive been OOC since Saturday. I refues to go back into service till the Tractor is fixed Just like I refused to keep the Reefer in service when I found Jenny My Reefer was sick. So Jenny is in the Reefer Hospitial and The Tractor is in the Tractor Op ward at TJ's in Jersey.
I dont believe in the no win seniro. Thanks for listening and the advice. If I didnt have bad luck Id have none at all but then again I must have an angel on my shoulder thank the Lord for that.

Re: Reefer is still down
YES I am
now my Explanation why I am.
As like somebody else I believed in a team effort well I was pulling but some one else was sitting on the side lines vice pulling like a team. Hint
Ur right He should have it, bad descisons and Mismanagement of monitary funds paints a true Picture.
If your a business man invest in the one and the equipment who got a proven record not on glossey eyed hunches.
Greed never gets u no where.

Re: Reefer is still down
Ok Greg here
1. I stayed out and made the money but vice him following the path of the Million dollar plan as you call it.
Greed and dishonesty took over and a swelled head. So instead of investing in the Right places and holding, Expansion (Getting Bigger) was the frame of mind. Thus keepiing up with the Jones.
Greg if he would have followed ur million dollar plan maybe just maybe Id be pulling My Reefer or Even a newer one. Hey maybe just maybe Id have a newer Tractor to Drive.
Like I said he believed in the fast talkers and took a chance on them. Glossy Eyed for $$$$$ and consumed with greed and Self Preservation and Shelfishness, got to his better Judgement. Then that would be the most accurate Explanation I can give.
A team effort Greg is I stayed out, and kept running to make monie for the truck.
The other drivers didnt they go in every 4 weeks and that.
They also were too good to take certain loads.
Where I would take em to keep bringing in money if the load paid if it didnt I didnt take it. I wont run in the red unless its going to get me to a poping area
The truth of the matter is I run the Truck off of what I down load from each run for Fuel Tolls and Repairs. I will admit with out a reefer the money is Slim JIM. (TIght)
I will also say this with the Reefer for quite a while I supported the Fleet for some time. But a Truck can only do that for so long before it needs things for its self. I dont think I need to elaborate on that.
ok.

Re: Reefer is still down
Dump the reefer! They're a pain in the ***. I'm making more $$$$ with my stepdeck than I ever did with my reefer trailer. Or do like Night told me, pull a company owned 53' dry van. He seemed to be doing better with that than I did with a 48' liftgate equiped reefer!

Well the notice has been given. AUG 1ST NO MORE IF THE REEFER ISNT FIXED.
I could careless about excuess. Drop decks and step deck may make more monie but if the man dont have it then one cant get into that either. He had a Man on the flat bed and step deck division with a company outa Texas well that guy quit because of Equipment needed and Truck Repairs. I rest my case. The first man I worked for Started me in a Reefer.
I know the freight lanes and i know what kinda of money that can be made with a TVAL Reefer. I also know what kind of money can be made with a TVAL Reefer with a Lift gate for Art work ect.
Times UP Its either fixed By AUG 1st or bye bye
Ill DH 2000 miles dont matter to me. One last thing no one can call me a Truck Jumper I stayed with this man for 3 years.
Either he invests its fixed by the first or Im gone. Richfield can have it Ready to Rock and Roll by Friday. It will only take a day and that it. So Ive done my home work. If I owened her she would have been fixed allready...
Have a Safe ONE.

Wouldnt call the big white haried cave man a shrimp but Greed Shelfishness and Rubbing elbows and trying to keep up with the Big Fleeters Ya that was the Key (Ticket) that did its number. IF would have stayed small traded up in Equipment and thought about where he was, what he was doing now, not Glossey Eyed and in the Twilight Zone so to speak. Nice to dream but when reality hits its a Bell Ringer.
I guess his got Rung so to speak.

Re: Reefer is still down
I thought you were making all this money with the Fed? How much is a reefer trailer? If it was such a big deal, get a trailer and work out more of a percentage in your contract.
