Chevrolet HCV
Has anyone seen the new Chevy HCV cargo van yet? It looks like a Sprinter.

Re: Chevrolet HCV
I searched the net, but I did not see any references for a Chevrolet HCV.
Do you have link?

Re: Chevrolet HCV
Try this site.
Vision Manufacturing Ltd. | Home of the HCV * High Capacity Van * Ford, Chevrolet and GMC Models
I don't see this competing with the Sprinter in the Expediting market any time soon due to the standard wheelbase sizes being used. It is an after market unit if I read the info right for Ford and Chevy. It looks like the Chevy may have more of a chance to compete due to the longer wheelbase offered by Chevy.
This may be just the beginning of up fitters designing units that resemble the Sprinter to get into that market at a lower price.
Very interesting to say the least.

Re: Chevrolet HCV
It looks like it would also somewhat be a competitor to the Aerocell SRW. Their website needs to be finished as everything is empty except the one spec area. It will be interesting to learn more once they are fully up and running.

Re: Chevrolet HCV
Capacity-wise it is close to the older (2006 and earlier) long wheelbase, high-roof Sprinters - 450 cubes vs. 473 for the Sprinter I believe. I think the newer Sprinters are somewhat larger. Good to see more competition though.

Re: Chevrolet HCV
cinco de mayo-update on hcv
just called the closest dealer to me in mishawaka in. jeff keller the truck/commercial vehicle guy said he may have one in the next couple weeks. expects it to be in the mid $30k range and it is coming with a ps. expects it to have a 3500# capacity built on the ford 138" 10K chassis.
i left a msg at vision to find out if they had any gm dealers signed up and if they were going to build on the 159" chassis. details to follow.
later that same day................
chevy versions will not be available until sept due to the aa strike. all units will be in the original silhoutte version of the original-meaning they get a fairing and are taller never wider. since the aa strike they have not contacted any gm dealers so currently it is a ford only model. they will use the 159"wb for chevy models.

Yep, the new Sprinters are a bit larger. My '07 is a 170" wb and it's pretty large.
I've been wondering for a couple years why other manufacturers didn't make a larger van to compete with Sprinters. If these take off and they eventually make one as big as the big Sprinters, could we see something of a phasing out of the smaller cargo vans in the future?

Re: Chevrolet HCV
Was near Atlanta today and checked out the Ford version of the HCV. Sure looked really nice to me, well built and well thought out. Nice folks, but very busy!!!

Re: Chevrolet HCV
i talked to a fella running a cube van sprinter last year and his mileage was about 12-15. he was looking for a fairing for the cab to help the cargo brick he is lugging around. i called unicell mid year last year and was told there was no pass thru available and there was no aerocell planned for that chassis. plans may change.

Was it a high cube by any chance?
I talked to one yesterday who was getting it serviced, he has a lower cube and gets about 18.

NP, I looked at the mileage and had to take a second thought about it what you said. A lot of people don't know that a High Cube can take a lot of energy to move against the wind.
