ProHeat Generator not working properly
We just had the computer board replaced on our generator, when we were home, because the fan would only run for a minute and then start blowing luke warm air. Unfortunately, this did not fix the problem so now we will get to roast to death until we go home again.
We called the dealer that fixed it and they are saying it must be something that is coming loose when the truck is moving, since it worked when we picked it up.
I was wondering, did anyone else have this sort of problem and what was done to fix it?
Thanks

RE: ProHeat Generator not working properly
Typical comment by incompetent repair people. Repairs are supposed to take into account vibration of down the road use. What kind of business do they think we are in? GURR!!!!
Hope your Pro-Heat is quieter than the Carrier I was parked next to last night. I think Carrier bought out Pro-Heat. That thing was as loud as a reefer.

Maybe you should try a different service facility. I went to several and found a wide range of competence as well as pricing for routine maintenance. Don't go to any in MA. I forget where the one was I went to but outrageous high prices and poor attitude. Good luck.

RE: ProHeat Generator not working properly
USE THE BOOK it came with. Find another Service Facility and call the Main HQ in British Columbia and demand to talk to MAX tell him Kraig sent you. He can brain storm most problems thats what he is there for.
At least now you have hundreds of dealers to choose from, when I bought mine there were maybee 30 accross the Country.
DO NOT RUN WITH IT BROKEN, it cannot pay you back if it is not working. Take a half a day make that appointment on your next run when you know you will deliver at 6am call the dealer in that city as soon as you find out about a load, drop DH to dealer and get R fixed.
Calling and making an appointment always got me in, showing up with a broken unit just got me excuses. Crying got me no sympathy either.

RE: ProHeat Generator not working properly
We didn't even get a book with ours but I do have a list of service facilities, that our guy back home gave us.
This is the 1st problem we have had with this service center. They normally know what they are doing but this time, they left us in a jam.
Thanks Broom for the info on who to call. We will give that a shot and see about getting it fixed out here on the road. Don't want to wait until Nov, when we go home again.
The thing that upsets me the most, is paying for a part, that apparently, we did not need. x( x(

RE: ProHeat Generator not working properly
I had a similar problem with mine. the compressor was overheating it would blow cold for about 5 minutes and then the compressor would stop but the fan would keep on blowing. Take it to a carrier place the one in dallas is pretty good and the place in memphis tn is good too.
