An update
Some months ago, I posted a query about a repair on my van, (wheel bearing), that didn't last very long. Based on the replies here, and the opinion of my trusted mechanic, I felt the original repair was defective, and so informed the shop that made the first repair. Now, I'd like to say that the shop owner & I have come to a mutually satisfactory agreement, and I can recommend Miles & Sons Repair, of Cuba, Mo, as a reputable shop, and Mr, Miles, Sr, as a man of integrity. If you ever need his services, he will stand behind his work, and it's a pleasure to have something good to report about a breakdown on the road. :)

RE: An update
This shows that if you are persistent and professional you can sometimes reach a satisfactory agreement. Even when dealing with an out of state shop. It's nice to see a positive post and a recommendation for this shop.
