I am very pleased with my Aerocell. Got 315,781 miles and 7011 hrs with no problems except lost a fuel pump at 230,000 miles. Haven't had any problems at all with the body.
Really haven't added anything major. Have a new battery charger/convertor for keeping batteries charged when I can plug into shore power. It is computer controlled through four different charge modes to extend the life of the batteries.
I bought and installed a Scangauge and am pretty satisfied with it.
Would I do it again? Sure would and about the only thing I would do different is price the materials to make the bed frame etc out of aluminum to save some weight. Not saying I would go that route but would at least look at the cost and then make the decision.
As far as handling it drives and rides good. In wind it is about like any van. If a t/t pulls back over close in front of me it wiggles until he gets a hundred feet or so ahead. Been thinking about a set of Airtabs to see if they would help.
As far as fuel mileage for the whole year last year I averaged 13.8 MPG. Remember we keep the inside temperature between 60 and 80 anytime we are in the van and we do that by idling the engine.I Laredo with a outside temp above 100 it has idled for over 14 hrs straight. That really lowers your MPG average.
