tire purchase using Panther discount partner
Has anyone bought tires through the Panther partner program? If so, how do you go about it? I've got to buy a pair of steers and need to figure out which tires to buy and where to buy them from. Any input from those who've already purchased tires is greatly appreciated.

RE: tire purchase using Panther discount partner
They use to be Kelly-Springfields. There is a shop right by Seville that does these. No personal experience as I only buy Bridgestones and use a fleet discount. There are discounts through OOIDA as well. I think they are 10 to 15 percent?

RE: tire purchase using Panther discount partner
I used the discount of PII on a set, Goodyears best and paid $620.00 or so if I remember right, mounted and out the door. Then you make your own deal on the old tires, I got about 35 each for those.
You just go in to the Goodyear dealer and tell him you get a fleet discount and hand over the fleet card they gave you when you signed on. Funny thing is that they will not tell the dealer how much you paid for them they will only tell you. One important thing is you must pay with your Comdata card.
My buddy owns the Goodyear center and when I told him the price he said he could not come close to that.
told you i can't spell.:+

RE: tire purchase using Panther discount partner
Leo, you can get Goodyears at any Goodyear Commercial Tire Center or Kellys at any T/A. Tell them you are using national acct # 1533. And you must make the purchase from your Panther issued ComData card. They will not know your actual price. disregard anything they quote you and check your balance before and after the transaction to determine your real price. The quote on labor, shop supplies, balancing, mounting etc.. will be accurate. Just the tire price is hidden from the dealer. Thr name of the acct is the Carrier Partner Program. I am fairly sure of this info as I set up the program.

That certainly beats the discounts I have been using. I think we will be giving this a try. Thanks Bigguy for the tip.

RE: tire purchase using Panther discount partner
The steers are for a truck I'm adding, not for my truck. If it needed them already I'd be on my way to whatever that town name in Washington is where they make these things for a serious discussion.

Oh, I was wondering. If you needed tires already, I wanted to know what brand and model they where, so, I wouldn't get some.
