I run a ity-bity Mopar VAN with a 5.0 gas engine, and I get 16.8, and that is running around 70mph
You guys with the big(BIG) trucks may not care, but what about all you VAN drivers?:'( Where are you?

Have a 330 Pete, Cum ISC @ 285, and 9 speed. Average 10, running 65.
About 9, when I have to put the tag down at 20,000# load. I DON'T IDLE!!!! Before this one ran a 4900 Farmall to 650,000 Without anything more major than a fuel pump. It was a mechanical DT466 @ 250H.P. Did the rods and mains every 200,000. Got (getting) 10MPG
with it. Believe I like the 285/9 speed combo better.

Have FL106 with series 50 and 9 speed. Average 10-11 hauling average expedite load and about 8-9 when the tag goes down and the weight goes up.Average speed about 63 mph. Not a lot of idle time since I have a Rigmaster.

Our 2001 IH 9200i with detroit deisel 370/430, with pro sleeper and 22' box is getting 11.5 mpg. 141,000 miles now on it.
Doesn't make any difference loaded or empty. I suspect mpg is lower at lower speed limits. We found the truck set up this way and did not not spec this way. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. other similiar owners have confirmed their results to be the same.:-)
