Sirius/XM
I'm wondering about what the best set up for my truck is going to be. Used to see the truck mirror mounts for sale in the truck stops, but now that I'm wanting to buy one I can't find them anywhere. I don't know if this is due to the economy or the merger but I don't want to buy a radio until I am clear on how the antenna is going to work.
I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go go go there's no stopping me
I'm burning through the sky yea
Two hundred degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light

You don`t need a special mushroom type antenna. Just get a flat piece of metal, Sold in truck stops and mount it to the top of your mirror. then the standard magnetic mouse that comes with most satellite radios will work just fine.
In the rare instance your box height is so close to the mirror, as to block the line of sight, you will need the extra height the Mushroom antenna affords.FedEx CUSTOM CRITICAL / ROBERTS EXPRESS since 1988 (Blue Glove Division)

If you can get the small antenna up on the top of the box or near the top of the roof fairing in a TT you will do well. Just remember to mount it on the drivers side of the truck, this will prevent some signal loss if you are beside a rock face or a heavily tree lined road.

Petro has the outside mirror mount antennaes. Mine doesn't have the mushroom top. It is round, about 1 1/4 inches in diameter and about 7-8 inches long. It works great. The antennae that came with the radio kept losing signal. I think it cost me @ $60.
