I do not know about a truck but the last camper I did (a 68 cox popup). I just put on a braker box and did it like a house, ran to all the out lets and pluged in to the box and fliped the brakers. You can find camper parts on ebay for shore power

We have shore power that was installed professionally by BENTZ TRANSPORTATION PRODUCTS.

When plugged into AC at the camp grounds power is immediately to all appliances.Fridge, microwave, etc.

Don't have any experience with a do-it-yourself instalation, but I am sure it could be as simple as an extension cord with a few outlets.

I have an interesting setup in that I have one leg of my APU hardwired into my blockheater and a switch inline to turn it on and off the other leg is wired to a duplex plug mounted in the sidebox. I then have a 2500 watt inverter mounted in the sidebox close to the plug. I normally have the 110 stuff plugged into the inverter so that i have 110 power whether I am running the APU or not, the APU is always on either on battery moniter or if weather conditions call for it in heat or cooling mode,no dead batteries and really saves me on fuel, also the engine is generally pre heated and ready to go shortly after a call comes in. when home I just take a 12 gauge extension cord and plug the 110 tap into it and I also have a small cube heated in the truck I use it in the winter so the truck is always warm.

I have found a site online that gave me an idea. I think I will have it done professionally so I will have peace at mind while sleeping. Unless someone can give me some schematics of some sort. The truck I bought came with little info on what was done with it and the wiring. It does have some custom work etc. I just cannot afford a generator at this time. Plus I have an RV also and really enjoy the people I meet in RV parks.
Thanks

My truck also has the Bentz sleeper with shore power for hotel electricity and charging. The only drawback is you can't run the a/c from shore power. That's another reason I want my next one to have an Onan and roof air.
