Forum name: Tax Topics For Expediters.
Subject: Correct me if I%27m wrong

Message :

On 1/20/07 a member posted a question in this forum. Being a regular visitor to this site and seeing that nobody had replied to their question yet, I took the time to answer it myself on 1/20/07. Seeing that other member's replies to questions have been posted here, I assumed it was ok to add a reply myself.Especially if it was correct and helpful to other readers on this forum.

My reply was short, informative and backed by my own tax service provider and tax schedules. I even devulged where my information came from to back my statements. I did not want to appear that I thought I was a tax expert, which I am not. Yet today I see that the Moderator of this forum has replied to the original poster's question, yet my reply is nowhere to be found.Based on the Moderator's reply it seems that mine was also correct, just shorter.

So, correct me if I'm wrong. If the tax forum is reserved only to the moderator's replies say so. I'll not waste my time or others in the future. Afterall, I thought when I hit the "post message" and got the message that comes afterwards it meant once reviewed by the Moderator it would then be posted. This is a helpful site to all.In the future if this is the way it is supposed to work, then I'll leave the answers to our tax expert.

Hi Streakn1,
Just got your message yesaterday but have not found it in queue on my admininstrator page for me to unqueue, so that is why I have not answered sooner.
I think I know who you are using, they are located in CO, if I am correct. True, I have 3 client who have had experience with them and had a big problems and an arguement at one of their companies Drivers Appreciation Day. he told them right to there face, and very loud for all to hear how of overcharging and other items that were supposed to be done monthly, he never got a P/L Statement at all. and he was suppose to get on monthly. they sent him is money back, I myself have tried to get on as a vendor with all the expediters at there appreciation days, but have not heard anything on it,
I appreciate the information that you have given, and No I do not have any problem with anyone that might be knowledgable in taxation enought to allow those answers.
I just cannot get on the web site as often as Iwould like during this time of year. I start to log on, and then someone would walk in to the office and that is the end of answering for that day, unless I get free again.

Thank you

I got a message from expediters online and they said that they deleted it That is why it did not go through the normal channel due to something that it was not necessary to post. Or something like that.

Hi Frank,
Thankyou for your response and explaination. It was very helpful in understanding how this Tax forum works. I hope that you did not feel that I was in any way being sarcastic in refering to you as "our tax expert". In fact I was acknowledging your expertise in the area and my lack thereof in this field. I'm a bit direct at times I guess. I hope EO's choice delete my message was not because they felt it was inappropriate. I've not been censored in the past and hope I did nothing to offend them in this case.

The tax service I have been using for years is The Alliance out of Tulsa,OK that Kevin Rutherford owned in partnership. They were my source of information referred to in my post. Prior to the recent sellout to American Truck Business Services in Lakewood,Co I felt the service provided to us was very good. Since our account rolled over to ATBS and I've had little dealings with to date, the jury is still out. Admittedly the transition (pre-paid plan) wasn't without flaw but the truth will be told when our 2006 income tax forms are completed. Based on their quality of service, a decision will be made on continuing to do business there, or look elsewhere.

Looking forward to reading your next helpful post in the forum.

Gary

Hi Gary,

Thank you for you post, and Yes, that is what I thought, There is no problem as far as what has happened so far and appreciate your remarks, and there is definitely no problem with anyone answering a question for me. if they find that it a true answer, So many times it has happened where people give there explanation of what they received from different companies that they use. and some or if not all (pertaining to the national chains are incorrect. . I recieved a copy of a tax return from a Driver and it said that due to that being a cargo van driver you are not subject to DOT Regulations, and cannot take the per diem deduction. (INCORRECT ANSWER))
So if you feel that it is a correct answer they by all means answer the question if I have not already checked it out.
