RE: tax preparation
First of all which is he paying you, the 60 for you, you pay fuel, and tolls.
if he is paying for the tolls/ fuel then he is paying you the 40
the only thing that you can deduct is the days you are out overnight, plus anything that you are not reimbursed for on that truck
what type of unit are you running, cargo van, straight truck
and who is he signed on with.
As far as the estimated taxes , there is no reason to pay in anything yet, due to the deductions that you will incur with driving.
and it also depends on the gross that you are getting each week,
remember, he is already signed on to a company, you should not have to pay for installation of satillite, air time, his cell phone, he should supply one, its his truck, it is his responiblity to pay for workmen comp insurane or Occupational Ins. TO cover u, IS THERE A CONTRACT THAT U HAVE TO SIGN, READ IT CAREFULLY AND SEE IF HE OR SHE STATE WHO PAYS FOR WHAT AND WHAT YOUR PAY. if he does not have a WRITTEN CONTRACT, WALK AWAY . OR FIRST IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED IN DRIVING FOR HIM GO OVER THE CONTRACT WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB, WITH A LAWYER IF POSSIBLE TO PROTECT YOU.
iF YOU WANT SOME INFORMATION ON WHAT YOU CAN DEDUCT SEND ME YOUR MAILING ADDRESS
