Race fans?
Just wondering... I hardly ever see any post about racing on the
sports forum. For example, the Nextel All-Star race was this past Saturday night; over a million dollars went to the winner. And this coming Sunday is the Coca-Cola 600. Anybody coming to Charlotte for that?:+ :+

RE: Race fans?
I dont follow racing as much as I used to. Been to many Nextel races in Indy and the Indy 500. Will watch the Indy 500 this weekend with my family.

RE: Race fans?
I watch all the races I'm around for, but I don't like the new car this year. Kinda took it in more of a road racing direction. I'm sure it works for them, but just doesn't look right.

RE: Race fans?
I watch or listen to as many as I can. I kept up with alot more last year on XM but now Sirius has it.
The COT is ok but my feeling is the cars bodies should be exact replicas of the production car. If a manufacturer doesn't build an aerodynamic car that teams want to race then tough. When Plymouth came out with the Superbird, Ford responded with the Talledega. Thats how it should be in my opinion.
I'm going to wait for Jr's press conference at 11. He's going to announce his plans today. Speculation on the news last night was it was Hendrick with Kyle B. being released.

RE: Race fans?
i liked back in the day nascar. then came wild bill and i liked that but todays cult of driver more important than the car bad boy wreck you first mentality is not what bill jr would allow. just read a time mag with a story about him in back. i cannot imagine him letting todays brats get away with their stuff.
the cot is just bad. (where can i buy a ford or toyota with a 360 engine like that one that won today?) yellow flags to keep the pack together is bad. restrictor plate racing is bad. fans threatening bill simpson is just stupid.
i have been following sports car racing for year. this weekend is the 24 hrs of le mans and is accessible thru radio leman at the american lemans series .com site. race starts at 9 am central time tomorrow. i think the american races of the series are aalso on xm.

RE: Race fans?
dreamer.its a game called nascar racing 2003 series,by sierra,if you can find a game now it would cost you up above 150 bucks, game is no longer produced
this hobby started about 12 years ago, been racing on line since 1995,original game i started with was nr3,then came nr4 then 2002,thhen 2003.as the game progressed the computer had to be up graded,as the graphics keept getting better.i have a graphics card that cost over 500 bucks,a 200 dollar sound card, the steering wheel was 400,and with tyhe game,I race guys and gals all over the world.the europeans are really good on the road courses
the paint sceams can either be from the game,or home made, mine is home made, has sponsor of summit racing, since i live near there
there are around 20000 people doing this game,my rank is around 140
i race in a league every friday and sat when im home,my lap top not big enough to handle the memory for the game.there are some guys that have taken this game and have up graded i for us,we now can race on dirt tracks, the new improved talledaga, lowes, that bumpy redid, game is just awesome.
there are nascar simulators around the u s stores are called nascar silicon motor speedways smsonline.com,they use the same game only u race others in simulators that are linked in the stores, its awesome, you almost can feel the speed
