Oh what tangled webs we weave, I guess by you saying that the website I found the clip of Rush saying he would move to Costa Rica as not reliable shows that what's good for the goose is not good for the gander. A caller asked Limbaugh: "If the health care bill passes, where would you go for health care yourself?"

Limbaugh responded: "I’ll just tell you this, if this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica."

No mention of "where will you live?" or anything like that. It was a question about where the man would go to obtain health care, and it was part of a question that dealt with whether or not doctors would be forced into the federal program and not be able to have their own private practice.

When the two above quotes, the question and the answer, are pulled and left alone, out of context, it certainly appears that Rush said he was moving to Costa Rica, but that's not what was said when taken in context. The question, and premise, was that if doctors were forced to go into the federal program and not able to opt out of the government insurance pool, and not allowed to establish a private practice with private sector patients paying their own way, then where would Rush himself go for his own health care? And the answer was, if all this stuff gets passed an implemented, then he'd leave the country for his own health care, and that he'd go to Costa Rica to do it. Cuba and other places were also mentioned by Rush and the caller, in the context of health care, but at no time did Rush make mention of leaving the United States for anything other than obtaining health care.

You can believe with all your heart that 2+2=5, but regardless it won't change the fact that it's 4. People can take "I'm leaving the country," to mean something other than what was said in the context of how he said it, but that doesn't change the meaning of what he said. The facts are, the conversation between the caller and Limbaugh were 100% in the context of obtaining health care. Anyone who inserts some other context, or takes a couple of quotes out of context and then applies a different meaning to it, prefers their own fantasy to the truth.

And it's those very people, who confronted with the truth, either refuse to believe it, get pіѕѕed off, or both. You coming back with a personal attack about how smart I may or may nor be merely confirms the point I made: facts just pίѕѕ people off.

And just so you know, for the record, I'm not a Limbaugh fan in the least. The two quotes above, while accurate, were taken out of context and twisted into something else for a political purpose. Limbaugh is a master at doing the same thing. He does it to feed those who are desperate to be fed what to believe. He's very good at what he does, which is to keep people listening. But make no mistake, if it meant changing his political stance to keep people listening, because people want to be fed something else, he'd do it in a heartbeat.

But, what do I know? After all, I'm not smarter than that.

Come on guys, does what any of these talking heads on either side of the political spectrum say really matter? It is OUR responsibility to observe what is going on and make up our own minds. They are all nothing more than Oprahs and Jerrys. Just spouting off for ratings. They all just play to a bunch who agrees with them for the most part. Just the way it is. Some in here are putting way to much importance on their shows.

If that is the case..what you are saying is the Chefs postings are all meaningless drivel and should be not commented on and ignored....Just because it is from the left doesn't make in right(theres a joke in there)...Most are from the Hannity/Beck groupies..

Chef can post whatever he wants, shoot, even the "Rocket" can for that matter!! LOL!!! Chef does a very good job of stirring the pot in here so to speak, not as good as you, but good.

But there are those you really get their tail in a knot and go nuts over the Chefs and even my posts..when most of it is just crap...I mean there is some truth but its a stretch on most...

Yup. Billy Cunningham in Cincinnati, WLW AM 700, is the best there is. He gets people all worked up and frothy, whether they agree with him or not, to the point where they can't stop tuning in. He can, and has, taken both sides of an issue, sometimes at the same time. The man is brilliant.

People with high ratings on the radio, like Rush, have high ratings because they cater to people who will give them ratings. Listen closely to what they are saying, rather than merely what they are saying, because, what they are really saying is, "You are getting sleepy, your eyelids are getting heavy. When you awake, you will want to listen to me every day." Then you wake up and mindlessly tune in, and over time you are subtly being molded and manipulated, duped into thinking that you are thinking for yourself.

Thanks for the compliment, kind sir!! "Stirring the pot" to increase post counts is one of the solemn duties of a "mod". I take all my lifes duties very seriously!!

A good Mod will initiate threads and help guide the topic thru...
get people to post...
start threads of general interest
Help the site generate hits thru the above and help get the paying advertizers more bang for their buck..

You and I do more for EO then all the rest of the mods put together....Take a bow..you earned your pay...

Wrong again - I get the cigar on this one. If you read the TRANscripts or heard the actual broadcast you would know what he actually said. Instead, you're ignoring those sources and choosing to represent the drivel from rawstory.com as factual, holding ever true to the liberal template. Turtle did a good job of spelling it out so even a cave man could understand it - no need to rehash the obvious.

Far more important than the pay is the "honor" of getting wear that red "moderator" tag on your Expo name badge!!

It is a demanding job to say the least. Kinda cool too!!
