    Yes that's true but compensation does not mean ownership, which is exactly what is going on - the worker is assumed to be more important than the investors of the company.

    Actually I may know more than you. I really don't care what the UAW/Worker position is with this deal, I don't think the cheating and lying was needed as much as the forcing the removal of confidence with the government to stay out of things equally.

    Not really, they serve no real purpose other than to make money off of the company - hence the purchasers of the products the company produces. It is absolutely amazing that they can claim to be for the working man/women but in fact play a lot of games behind the scenes to make it they are doing a good job and still jobs are at risk and problems still exist. If it was the case that they actually did good, then the top 100 list of best places to work at would have GM and Ford sitting on the list but they are no where to be found. The only one that is on the list is Mercedes, why?

    The funny thing is that you may never have seen much behind the scenes and if you have and still think they are great, then there is an issue with your position.

    Sell is relative to how the company presents the numbers. If you mean buy, purchase or obtain for a long term commitment, then I think Toyota still has GM beat in all markets, even at this time. As for overall sales I think that the market share shows what I'm saying, it doesn't matter what GM says how great they are doing, when you fall from 44% market share to 19% within 20 years within your home market, there is a serious problem with the product, the organizational structure and the labor agreements. I have yet seen any real gains like they said would happen. I haven't seen solutions or new products other than cars people are still not buying. Yes Toyota sells less but look at it this way, they are competing with Ford, Chrysler and GM (who has several product lines that compete with each other - another problem still) and still has 17% of the market - what's really wrong with that picture?

    Maybe they still don't have a product to actually SELL?

    Well here's the thing Oiler, back in 1968 when the UAW broke off with the AFL and Meany, the subject was brought up between Fitzsimmons and Reuther on how to make more money for the UAW by aligning the operations close together. The problem was with what Hoffa did in the past with pension money and Reuther didn't seem to be keen on the idea.

    School teachers, like firemen and other municiple workers are covered by the government directly. Their pensions seem to be tied directly to the operating budgets of the states.

    As far as my ideas just not being there, well that's all good and well but they didn't come from me, it seems that some of the leaders there in your union have said the same thing a few times before.
