Emails Reveal Todd Palin's Power

I know, I know this is just the msm trying to demonize this half-twit and the Democrats are afraid of her, etc, etc. but you have to admit this is not good for the Palins.

Todd Palin had a massive amount of power in his wife’s administration in Alaska, recently released emails confirm. The missives, obtained by NBC through the state’s public records law, show the “first dude” was heavily involved in judicial appointments, contract negotiations with public employees, and state board appointments. He also received background checks on a corporate CEO, and passed financial information marked “confidential” from the oil company that employed him to a state attorney.

Other emails shed light on the Palins’ personal use of state resources; in one, the governor discusses ways to disguise the electrical work needed to install her new tanning bed in the governor’s mansion, and in others her staff looks for public events to justify personal travel. The state also withheld 243 emails on the grounds of executive privilege—including one on how to deal with “media questions about Todd Palin’s work and potential conflict of interests.”

My goodness gracious that is just totally unheard of. Hiding the installation of a tanning bed, I guess they wanted to hide the couple of hundred dollars so knuckleheads wouldn't try and make it into a federal offense. But leave it to the media to find something wrong with getting a tan. As far as the First Dudes helping his wife, what's new about that.(not saying that I like it)

OR, when that same First Lady commits a felony by reading classified documents while her husband was in office. Say that she did during the campain, to prove she had more qualifications than King Putz did, then denied it later. What is she? A liar or a felon? That is in addition to being made the Secretary of State. What a grand choice. What else can you expect from Osama Obama. Criminals hang with criminals.

Not really, but it is going to happen more as time goes by. Really not much different then the Chief of Staff doing the same thing.

That is a shame that our system has been so perverted by those in power. Is it any wonder that things are so messed up? The only thing worse than the corruption is the acceptance of that corruption by the voters.

LOS, I don't think it's against the law to Read Classified Documents, unless you stole them.

Who cares?

The last time I looked, I wasn't living in Alaska. Would like to but it is not important to me what he or she does.

I think I would be a bit hard pressed to vote for Palin in 2012 because she has no real direction and isn't doing what I think she should do, get involved with the party to fix it. If she does the Bull Moose move, as it happened 100 years ago, the dems and Obama would be in office until 2016. Her focus needs to be with the party, not with running right now.

By the way, look at how much our present lady has in influence and power.

I really like this paragraph from the MSNBC article:

"You can read all those e-mails in msnbc.com's searchable online archive, created in cooperation with a legal services company, Crivella West. We're still going through the documents, and invite readers at msnbc.com to search for themselves, connect the dots with public issues, and send us an e-mail with your own analysis."

I'm sure there would be great value in an analysis submitted by a semi-informed general public. However, it would probably be equally objective as one might get from the writers at MSNBC. I also await with great anticipation an analysis of similar e-mails sent by spouses of the other 49 governors. No doubt their subject matter will only involve such pristine activities like the latest cookie recipies or their volunteer work at the closest soup kitchen.

I can think of no other politician in recent memory whose activities - both public and private - have been so completely dissected by the msm. Wonder what could be found in the Obama family's e-mails that were sent during the brief time he held public office in IL?

One other thought on a somewhat different subject: I was astounded to hear today that Sarah Palin is going to campaign in AZ for McCain's re-election to the Senate. Unimagineable after the way she has been treated by him and his staff. It would certainly be refreshing to see the good people of AZ replace McCain with J.D. Hayworth.

Yes, it is very illegal to read or allow an uncleared person to read classified documents.They classify them to keep people from reading them. That is the reason for the classified system. So, if Hillary read them, both her and Slick Willy committed crimes. Or Hillary is a liar, or both.

Our protection of classified material has become very lax. Clinton/Bush and the Sandy Berger mess. Congress allow him to get away with who knows what? Multiple felonies. Obama should not have access to classified documents. He would not be able to get a clearance if he were not president.

It can take up to 18 months to get clearance for certain things. It used to be a very important thing. Seems like it means little now. More proof that we weaken as a Nation. People DIE when this stuff goes on.

I am with you Pilgrim, if any politician is dumb enough to use e-mail, twitter, facebook for anything other than political business they deserve to be outted.

I have a question though, is MSNBC "msm"? That is were this story came from. If so, does that make FOX "msm" also? Because if MSNBC is "msm" then I would have to disagree with you when you say:

You either have a short memory or you have selective memory or you do not watch FOX(which I highly doubt) I think they do a pretty good job of "dissecting" Obama and his family.

MSNBC is LSM . As in lame stream media. It has a left wing agenda when reporting politics. It is no longer mainstream as evidence by their abysmal ratings. They aren't much trusted to deliver the news in a fair and balanced way. If you want that watch Fox news. They provide a conservative point of view,but also let the libs have their say as well. Fox News is the mainstream media now .

The Obama coverage has simply not been as involved with his wife and children and their personal lives as has been the case with Sarah Palin and her daughters. However, it's not a case of comparing apples to apples because they are the first family and are naturally subject to closer scrutiny. I'll say again that I'd like to see all of Ms. Obama's e-mails that were sent while he held public office in IL. How many of us really think she was an innocent bystander then?

Do what MSNBC did and obtain them through the "states public records law". I would say though, if there were any public records out there that would shed a negative light on Mrs. Obama or the President they would've came out already. I am sure FOX and or the Palin camp is working on that for you at this very moment. It would be interesting to see if they find anything.
