Reagan screwed up signing that. None of them should be given amnesty. There is an immigration program in place already. Forget setting up any centers or programs or anything else for CRIMINAL aliens. Once unemployment is down below maybe 3% then return to the several thousand legally allowed immigrations annually. Obama can't be eliminated too soon with stupid plans and ideas like this.

Under NORMAL circumstances you may be correct BUT...we're not living under normal circumstances. As lazy as we are, if this unemployment continues to rise (as we know it will), and one's unemployment runs out....then what?? Are you saying that in DIRE circumstances unemployed Americans will not take these jobs??

Part of the problem with some of the thinking here is that some of you haven't "crossed over" to the reality of where we're headed. I don't think any of us can make a claim that Americans won't do WHATEVER it takes to feed their families when push comes to shove. We haven't seen NEARLY the worst of this....as "the man" himself said..."you ain't seen nothing yet".

News Flash: Unemployment will likely never go below 6%. Flash number two, I'm not at all ignorant. I knew exactly what I was saying. Flash three, I don't care about cheap labor. They can pay reasonable rates for labor. My post was to clearly illustrate there should be a locked border and absolute zero tolerance. Oh, and you don't have to "round up" 12-15 million. You make it untenable for them here and they'll round themselves up.

OVM, you know there are jobs that these people refuse to do, they are used, USED to do some of the work that they are hired for, mostly corporate farms. While people like me can't get that work, even work repairing equipment, it is the invader who seems to be put into a very bad position by being forced to be part of a slave system that a majority of this country accepts.

When I hear the cr*p they do the jobs others won't do, it reminds me of McCain saying the same sh*t a few years back and not one person saying that has yet proved it was true.

So if you want, I can take you to some "easy" jobs that it seems like only Americans can do, some are very dangerous, while others are just plain hard. I also know what it is like to work on a farm and that work can seem hard but in comparison, picking tomatoes and other veggies which I have done for a number of years over in your former country, all of which is nothing compared to the jobs I am talking about that they won't do.

As for them being cheap, again I work for less than $4 an hour at this job when everything is said and done, most of us don't work for much more than that - that is the rate by being in service time and on the road. When you look at what benefits they get in some situations, they are making better money than my wife does. The myth of them being paid $2 a day (arbitrary number) is just that, a myth and until you guys figure out what they do get paid by actually talking to them and seeing it first hand, don't try to tell us it isn't true.

It is like the crew I had to work with last year, I was on a load with construction supplies. They were all from Central America and they made $21 an hour under the table. Not one of them did something that my father, cousins or uncles ever refused to do but at $21 an hour, they were not being paid cheap. The kicker is the company hired them, paid for their housing and transportation to these different job sites. They were still a problem, even though they had work visas because they were not paying into any system or taxes - essentially committing a crime by working under the table.

Even if you deport all of he illegal aliens you will not solve the problem. The Hispanic population is growing by 1 million every year due to higher birth rates. The Hispanic population is also doubling every ten years. It's just a matter of time before they are the majority in America. What I suggest if that you all learn to speak Spanish so that you will be able to conduct business in the new America.

Where I live the majority of residents are Hispanic and speak Spanish. I have learned to speak Spanish in order to communicate with them and conduct my day to day business. That is just how it goes. The British came here first, then the Irish, then the Italians, then the Puerto Ricans, now the Mexicans are taking over. That is what happens when one class of workers advances to a higher level and another group on immigrants are needed to do the menial labor.

But see it does. The invaders are not just Mexicans or Hispanics but also Arabs, Russians, Eastern Europeans, Chinese, and a even Canadians. The point is the Spanish speaking person is the more exposed - hence the one we think of the most.

What this will end is the abuse of the people who are trying to find better lives, it won't solve the problems with employment as much as I hope it would because of things that we can't control - our government.

The abuse ranges from sex slavery, farm worker slavery to worker abuse on the job. "Jose, take those hot glowing rods and run them over to the stamping machine, but don't forget to tape the right button on the control and hold the rods in place so they don't slip in the die" (actually saw that happen).

When you are not supposed to be here, it is hard for you to go to OSHA or the cops to complain. The reason I would like to see this country get their act together is not to prevent people from getting here to work but allow them the same chance my grandparents had without fearing bad things happening to them.
