    Veteran psychiatrist calls liberals mentally ill

    There are people in need of help. Charity is one of the nobler human motivations. The act of reaching into one's own pockets to help a fellow man in need is praiseworthy and laudable. Reaching into someone else's pocket is despicable and worthy of condemnation.
    --Walter E. Williams

    "Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive."

    "The best defense against usurpatory government is an assertive citizenry."
    --William F. Buckley

    "When dictatorship is a fact, revolution becomes a right."

    I learned a long time ago at the Phrama company how these research studies are produced for specific outcomes, this one being more of a political motivation by the sheer fact that there wouldn't be conservatives or libertarians being allowed on campus in the first place.

    Hmmmm... yea right.... does Edward Kennedy mean anything?

    I don't recall any of them murdering anyone... or maybe I'm wrong about that...

    If we include other people connected with or did things at the behest of the Kennedy's, maybe we will see that liberal version of the list grow.... right?

    Oh yea wasn't his father a bootlegger and has something to do with putting a few people away or was he an honest bootlegger?

    How about the people in Chicago, the people who fell on their sword for the Daly machine? Wasn't there a rash of democrats that are now felons because of things like the truck drivers license scandal or the Detroit style of property management....but if we only want to talk about the federal level, Dan Rostenkoski comes to mind.... something to do with the post office, the congress, embezzlement, money laundering and the speaker of the house ..let's not forget a key point, the speaker sat on the report from the post office inspector about the scandal and then when the report was leaked, it brought down the dems and got Rostenkoski a prison term... but let's not forget his connection to.... the Kennedy's.... Oh and his pardon from Clinton in 2000... but when you bring up Libby... committing a serious crime like embezzlement and money laundering as a US representative should be talked about first and foremost before lying under oath.

    Yea that's right, the liberals of Detroit who went to jail, I know you know only a few but I could post a long long long list of people who became felons under Young/Archer/Kirkpatrick administration..... all democrats and all really really liberal.....

    I am starting to beleive that the liberal way of thinking is flawed... much like the way of thinking in the early 19th century when the "experts" were telling the public that the slave was an inferior being that needed to have guidance from those who can shape them to be a sub-class citizen and help them with life in general.

    Much of that thinking seems to be in the speeches and rhetoric of the modren liberal/progressive/democrat, they know better for the masses, it is their experts that can right the wrongs and it is their knowledge and enlightenment that can only be the guiding light of our salvation for all the country and the world. It is this attitude that gave us a slave class that we call "The Poor", it is this attitude that has us at the door steps of a major change to our lives with no real need or purpose and it this attitude that is creating a class of people who are becoming the new ruling class and who are now embarking on redefining what really is the root cause of the real social problems of our country while redefining history.

    You seem to have missed the point. The earlier statement was that "felons are smarter than liberals". You are saying "liberals are felons". 2 different things...

    Nah I didn't miss the point, I needed to warm up for something else and used the post to do so and vent at the same time.

    Hey Greg, you mean something like......

    The narrow minded will never be satisfied. They cannot understand the actions of those who are large hearted and broad minded. Sri Sathya Sai Baba

    broad-minded - inclined to respect views and beliefs that differ from your own.
    narrow-minded - lacking tolerance or flexibility or breadth of view.

    Make it fit as you see fit???? Now that's funny......

    The proper quote is;

    The narrow-minded who undertake any work will never be satisfied. They cannot understand the actions of those who are large hearted and broad-minded.

    The bold part is kind of important. If you don't get it, it means no one is happy until they actually help others.

    That can be taken a few different ways;

    It could mean that the broad minded are not the detractors of change or help but the ones who promote one's ability to chart their own way. They are the ones who tolerate people, practice seeing people not color, gender or sexual orientation and want people to prosper under their own abilities and help them when they need help.

    The narrow minded can be looked at as the people who only see problems to be solved, they need to control things and to make things right as they see it without any other possibilities for what they deem a successful outcome. These are the people who we have today in power. Everything from Health care to welfare to education has a problem or crisis that needs to be fixed. The perfect example of narrow minded thinking is a fine for not having health insurance.

    Now I don't know if you read Sathya Sai Speaks or follow his teachings but there is a lot more that he said that leans on self-reliance as something that is needed to fix things. if you are a folower, then you can correct me with some of it....

    This is one qoute I like;

    A person should strive to use every talent and skill they have, not only for their own benefit, but for the benefit of the whole world.

    To me this means get off your a** and off of welfare and do something to better youself, family and the peopel around you. Don't depend on people to solve your problems.

    Here is another that is more approiate for today's Crisis;

    The harder the circumstances, the more trying the environment, the stronger are those who come out of those circumstances.

    This means, at least to me, that the people who actually survived, who didn't cry about the losses in their investments and kept moving forward are the ones who are stronger. They are not going to be swayed by the people, the devil if you will, to convince them to hand over the control of their lives.

    The weak people, the ones who were bailed out, the ones who don't understand what the stock market is all about, the ones who cry about trivial things are the ones who are totally convinced about the good that the government does and will never see it any other way.
