Out in the State of MA they call Pop "Tonic". At least they did around Ft. Devens when I was stationed there.

My half brother grew up in Watertown, Mass and you are correct layout they call pop = tonic, beer = pop and they talk funny to. Actually I love the Boston accent. Here is an
example of there accent, "Hey Mok get in the ca, lets go get a paup. Translation = Hey Mark get in the car, lets go get a beer.
