Greg, many economists would disagree with you. Some will agree with you too. I suppose time will tell. I believe the tide has turned and my paychecks would support that. I will be betting that I am right. In fact three more good weeks and I will be betting with the purchase of my own truck.

I too, have had a great 3 weeks and am working on a 4th. But, I am not looking for this to be the end of the slow. Still, just thankful for this blessing of the last few weeks.

Joe Biden's chief of economics on Joe's massive staff has pointed out that the numbers that are coming in indicate that we are not doing that well and they expect it to get worst. This was twice I heard him say it, and it is twice more I am convinced that until there is real growth without our money being used, we are not out of the woods yet on our way home and with Joe's staff saying this, I think they lost the basket of bread crumbs.

Ya know, Sam Walton had a philosophy he lived by that he claimed is what made him as successful as he was. He called it "management by walking around". He didn't worry about what people said about much of anything. He kept his eyes and ears open and watched what was going on , making his own observations and opinions as to what the business climate was like. I have to say that where I live, things are improving at a fairly quick pace. I could listen to Tom, Dick, and Harry spout off about what they think, but they all have their own agendas... If I see it's getting better, It's probably getting better. If my paycheck is increasing and I am getting more loads, I'm not going to listen to somebody who wants to pi*s on my leg and tell me it's raining...

Yea.... I get your point but the problem is that we are not growing, I mean how many new jobs are being created, how many new businesses are being started and sustaining and how many people are actually remaining positive about the future. I mean where is all of this without using the fallout of the government dumping billions into the economy?

We been here before, it don't matter what we see today, that is short term thinking but what will happen tomorrow. What happens next year?

Joe Biden's economist there said the same thing, we are no where near the edge of the woods or on the cusp of anything. Why would he say that if it wasn't near the truth? Granted the economist don't know what to make of this economy, the ones who are honest are cautious and the ones who want to look like they know what they are doing will say everything is fine now.

Of course we see improvements, we saw improvements in the middle of the depression, where people were being hired and people who were laid off went back to work but that was also short lived. We had a bad recession in 1937, it was worst for most who struggled than the previous 7 years. But again we don't learn a thing from history, do we?

We, us in this industry will see better times in the short term to a point but there isn't anything sustaining it. A lot of the work has to be done, the discretionary stuff is gone and with less trucks on the road rates should have risen but haven't.

I'm not the only one weighing in on the cautious side of things, a lot of others who try to figure this all out for a living also see the same things I do. My worry is debt, if we try to move the economy on debt we accumulate, and then try to sustain it, we will crash hard if we don't get some assets to back up the debt.

Why is it that people are still hurting in these economy? 70% of all O/O depend on broker freight or their leased to companies. I keep reading these posts about info regarding carriers and money this and money that. If these people put forth some of the effort they do to bi*tchin on a computer at someone, they would too make it.

Why pay the middle men when all it takes is a phone call (or 389), lol....to do the same as the large carriers or brokers.....

Also,.........quit hauling cheap freight and haul cars. They too (at times) get cheap rates, but........ .35cpm x 7 or even x 9.....well.......do the math!

Oh, I'm just a fat, tattoo'd, out of work trucker myself, so NO need to complain about "if im so good, why dont I"..........

I'm ****ing in the same empty pot as everyone else out there, I just find it funny how people act/speak before typing/thinking sometimes...........THANKS.....its passes the time. LOL..
