Re: David Letterman - Prince of Late Night Cowardice
If Obama finds himself with a 14 year old and an 18 year old that got pregnant at 16 and someone makes a joke about the 14 year old my opinion of the jokester would be the same. Decent adults don't make jokes about 14 year olds getting knocked up. For the most part kids shouldn't be joked about at all. Kids often have very thin shells and any sort of joking can be harmful in many circumstances especially when made to a national audience. The 18 year old has nothing to do with what actually happened. It might have been their intent to make that joke about the 18 year old. If so, they should have done what was necessary to guarantee she was the object of the joke and not her 14 year old sister.

Willie does NOT impress me, I don't like his music, his polititics and know MANY family farmers that wish he would go away. I am a trucker, he does NOT speak to me or for me in any way shape or form. NO one does. As to sweeping generalitities, any chance you have partaken in that when talking about Re-Bum-Li-Cans? Gun owners?
We most likely agree on many things about parenting and rasing kids. I am very happy to know you "stood up" for your kids. Maybe even other things. I was NOT hamering Lettermen for ANYTHING EXCEPT this ONE issue. It was wrong, and he should be blasted for it. I did NOT treat him as a child molester, although, that kind of action CAN have bad effects on a kid that is already in a fragile state. To do it ONLY for political reasons, well, that makes it worse. That say mountians about the sleeze level of the guy.

Layout, you keep bringing up that Letterman did this for political reasons. Is there some kind of Left-Wing Comic Conspiracy that I'm not aware of? I bet Letterman gets his orders directly from the top.

The networks in general LEAN a BIT? to the left. I agree, he gets is orders from the top. A MAN refuses immoral and or illegal orders in spite of what may or may not happen to him as a result. Proof the networks lean left? Just watch the debate or lack of it and the reporting on the health care issue. Any bet it will open? Any bet it will have fair honest reporting? NAW!!!

Re: David Letterman - Prince of Late Night Cowardice
Just to be clear, I won't lambaste anyone for their beliefs, but I will, absolutely, lambaste them for trying to force their beliefs onto others, or dismiss an individual as being irrelevant, or worthless, or somehow less of a person because they don't share the same beliefs. Being blatantly hypocritical will also get you basted as a lamb.
Now, I'll get back to the playground and get back to lambasting these kids for making jokes about other kids.

Re: David Letterman - Prince of Late Night Cowardice
I think I know why so many are upset about this situation. I really think that they believe it was actually Obama who made these comments, not Letterman. They are confused, daranged and just don't have a grasp on reality. Why else would there be so much hoopla made over a comedians meeningless monologue.
I guess there goes Letterman's chance at the Presidency. When he announced his planning on running I thought he had a real chance until he did this. Maybe Obama will bring him onboard as a writer. Now that would be something to talk about.

Re: David Letterman - Prince of Late Night Cowardice
Turtle... you mentioned Letterman said nothing about rape. When he mentioned A-Rod knocking up a 14 yr old, that IS rape... statutory, but rape, nonetheless.
Sarah Palin is young, intelligent, a successful governor who is loved by the ppl of Alaska, and VERY conservative. Me thinks the libs see her as a possible American Margaret Thatcher. They won't give her that chance, so they make her the butt of jokes, to minimize her in the eyes of the voters. Damm right they're afraid of her!Freedom is free of the need to be free. - Free your mind and your *** will follow.

This place amazes me sometime. I can see that trying to talk sense in here is a waste of time. You go ahead, make fun of and compound the problems of a child. Real he-men. Be proud. Un-real. I say that we should protect children and I am forcing my beliefs. WOW.
