    Summer Of Love

I have an uneasy feeling our nation is 4 to 6 months away from very real social unrest. These band-aid solutions from Bush and now Obama only buy a little more time. At some juncture, China will stop funding our debt and call in their markers. Then what?

Also, the oil speculators of 2005 through 2008 should not be forgotten. Fuel prices were held too high for too long. Artificially high. These folks plunged the dagger into the US economy, robbing it of trillions. The housing bubble burst and the banks failed only after the oil speculators extracted every last nickel they could get. Why don't we know their names?

We have become a debtor nation. And a spoiled nation. Totally unaccustomed to hardship. Hardship is coming.

I share your feelings. I too feel we are getting in real trouble. We could, however, call in all of the money owed to us. I would venture to guess it is quite a tidy sum. That will not happen. The plan is to ruin our economy. Both the Dumbecrats and Rebumlicans have been working on this for decades. They are after control and power. This so-called stimulis pakage is just the first of many steps to turn us into a marxist dictatorship. In the very near future you will see nationalization of all public utilities, the banks and what heavy industry they think we need. The auto companys will be finished off. Coal and steel production scaled way back. Just enough to meet the needs of the government but not enough to keep us a military power. The government will become the nations largest employer. Then they have you. They will not only rule you but control your income. The next step in this process will take place over the next 4-6 months. The formation of a National Un-Healthy system. That will give them control of up to 30% of the entire economy. It will also give them the power of who lives and dies. All you out there who are getting older faster like me watch out. When we get a system we will be the last to be taken care off. Only those producing income will get health care. It will be much like England in that respect. Layoutshooter

    Re: Summer Of Love

The writing has been on the wall for more then a few years. We will see higher fuel prices very soon, unemployment is going to go higher, the dollar will fall lower that the market is not going to recover. Barry's plan will force hyper-inflation and even while china has said that have no alternative but to continue to buy our treasury notes, sooner then later they will have to. The foreign wealth funds are already looking to get out of the dollar peg and when the FED Reserve is the only one buying our bonds with money that they just continue to to print, the SWHTF!!

Barry's big increase for the people in the form of his tax cut is going to put $13 a week in the pocket of the avg person. Thsat will fall to $8 dollars next year. What is going to happen when even those that voted for him decide he lied to them? No one working, except fpr the government...can you say riots in the street.....

Our government and politicians have been bought and paid for. They are in the process of "payback' now.... control of the markets, the industries and the people is what the socialist, marxist want and it is being handed to them by Barry and he has been paid well for it....

Just for giggles, look at how george soros made his money......then see where he is spending it...........

And none of this speaks to the way Barry has presented our country in a weaken manner to those that want nothing more then to convert or kill the infidels of the west....we will be attacked again.. we will have islamic jihad in our streets and we will have racial divde and fighting in our streets, all under Barry's watch....

While the illegals are slowing their way here and some are even going back home as the economy falls, when the STHF in Mexico, we will see more illegals then ever here, Texas is already making plans for it... Then you have the fact that Barry and Nancy and Harry and even mc cain wants to give them a free ride.....

It is going to get really nasty in more then a few ways before it gets any better......you are right, most Aremicans have never known hardtimes, we are spoiled, and most don't have a clue how to survive hard times, and that is also an added issue, when those that haven't prepared for hardtimes start to have to do without the basic's to live, they will go looking for it from those that have, and it won't be nice...

There are people in need of help. Charity is one of the nobler human motivations. The act of reaching into one's own pockets to help a fellow man in need is praiseworthy and laudable. Reaching into someone else's pocket is despicable and worthy of condemnation.

Wise folks you and your wife!! Add a few chickens, the meat is good and get a few egg layers too....

One other thing to think about, the government is taking aim at vitamins and supplements also, the FDA just made vitamin B-6 a DRUG, in a short time you will need a prescription to buy it...This has been coming for a while, has been the norm in alot of europe and the drug companies here finally have a friendily socialist in office. They got the B-6 deal through thrusday, they will continue until you can't buy vitamins withot your dr or the gov prescription oh and yea the increase in price........

national healthcare at the expense of the elderly (they need to accept the affects of aging and not ask for expensive treatment anymore) , control of nutritional supplements, med history online, limited procedures as a gov review board will decide what care you can have, waiting lines for major surgury even if you are found to fit into the gov profile.

Nationalization of the banks and market and heavy industries, control of the populace with added welfare programs and the breaking of the economy with printing worthless money further producing hyper-inflation and the total collapse of the us ecomony as foreign governments quick buying our debt and call in what we owe.

Hope you own gold, silver or other PM's............As well as guns and ammo and land so that you can help yourself....

I think you 3 are really going a bit extremist here...

I don't see other countries falling apart because of some government involvement on some level...

You can down play Canada, Great Britain, the Swiss, Sweden all you like...but they are doing just fine...

People don't die early...what crap...my relatives all got the best of care and lived a long life....sheesh...

The problem as I see it is there is NO enforcement of the laws that do exist....many countries even Canada hasn't suffered the mortgage scandal because of government rules and enforcement.

Political campaigning is capped...so not a chosen few can run...lobby groups are limited in their campaign funds.

I don't know how it is in England now but when I lived there retired people who got cancer and other expensive things were not treated. Once they were not contributing they were just kept comfortable. There were long waiting lists for things like hip and knee replacments. Some in excess of 20 years. The health care there was 20 years behind what we had in the states. I had one son born here and one in England 3 years later. I was shocked at the difference in the hospitals and the much lower standard of care. Layoutshooter

I can't speak for England...but Canada is not like that....
I'll give you one point with some procedures you are treated on a priority basis...When I needed carpal tunnel surgery from Dr..to specialist to surgery was about 6 weeks....

When my 87 year old grandmother was sick they flew AB negative from all over NA to treat her....they didn't let her die.

    Re: Summer Of Love

I think the government is already the nation's largest employer. When taken altogether to include federal employees, state, city and county government employees. I don't have the figures, but suspect the number of folks working directly for government plus the number receiving public assistance of some sort would be a much larger percentage than is commonly believed.

The concept of small government is lost. Government is a beast that grows and grows, while the private sector is diminishing. I don't see any way to reverse this trend. The horse is already out of the barn.

    Re: Summer Of Love

Canada had that problem years ago....they bought losing companies to save jobs..they were called Crown Corporations...CNR railroad Air Canada, Syndney Steel and hundreds more....all losing taxpayer money...the gov finally smartened up and divested themselves of quite a few CC's...they were either successfully or bought up or left to die a natural death and market forces absorbed the rest.
The country didn't die because of it...it actually prospered more because private ownership does a better job then the government. Sometimes the free market forces takes care of itself...when the gov gets out of the way.

That is why I am so worried and scared about Nationalized industries. I have seen how poorly they operated in England and how much more things cost because of it. EVERY thing like phone service, gas, electric etc costed way more than in the U.S. Industry has to be in private hands to work. Elected officials are just to dumb to run a business. If they were smart enough to run a company they would be doing it. Layoutshooter
