As one of the signers of our Constitution and the author of the"Declaration of Independence", Thomas Jefferson was a pretty smart guy. He and the Founding fathers seemed to be men that had a pretty clear vision of what was ahead for the people, and they understood the abuses that the elected government would sooner or later place on the people....
There are people in need of help. Charity is one of the nobler human motivations. The act of reaching into one's own pockets to help a fellow man in need is praiseworthy and laudable. Reaching into someone else's pocket is despicable and worthy of condemnation.
