Re: From the Religion Of Peace
Unfortunately, with your thread title, you tar all of the people of a given faith (1 to 1.8 billion of them) with the acts of a (relative) few.
Using the same (rather flawed) kind of logic, one could say that anyone who has served in the US Armed Forces is a butcher and a terrorist - simply by the individual acts of Timothy McVeigh, Terry Nichols, and of course ...... dear, old Lt. Bill Calley (led Charlie Company and was responsible for allowing an estimated 347 unarmed Vietnamese civilians, mostly elderly civilians, women, and children to be gunned down by U.S. soldiers .... lest we all forget ....)
And for those, who in another thread, who seemed to be confused about who all's in their family, while I don't know the purported religions of Nichols and Calley, McVeigh was born and raised a Christian ... although he claims to have fallen away from the faith (yeah ? ... no kiddin .....) .... he was reconciled prior to his execution with the Roman Catholic Church and received Viaticum.
I am no fan of Hamas .... just as I am no fan of any psychopath - either individually, or when collected into groups of like-minded individuals - no matter what their religion.
At some point however, one does have to ask: "Is that which is coming out of my mouth doing anything to better the relations amongst different peoples (different faiths, creeds, or colors, etc.) .... or, is it actually contributing to the problem ?"
Of course, there are some, who know only one way to resolve difficulties with inter-personal relations with others .... and that is thru the use of force ....
And, of course, if one lives by the sword (the use of force), one shall surely die by it .... that's really not so much the problem ..... it's the "collateral damage" these jokers tend to accumulate around themselves .....
