Re: McCain's VP
I think the scales just might have tipped back in McCain' favor. I was VERY impressed today, and everything we read about her just makes me more impressed.
This was a very smart choice for McCain. Totally out of left field, someone no one was seriously considering, and true conserative. There were rumors he was considering a pro-choice moderate to try to reach out to those 'less conservative' voters, but the rumblings made it pretty clear that a lot of republicans want MORE conservative, not less.
And for Palin, pure genius to give props to Hilary Clinton in her speech.. LOL.. had those women eating right out of her hand..
But seriously, come on now.. how perfect is this...
Leadership experience.. the only one on either ticket to run a government.
True conservative, blue collar roots... (husband is a oil rig supervisor), son is in Iraq, oh yeah.. and she's an NRA member, likes to race snowmobiles with her husband, known for standing up to big oil, for cryin out loud she's a hockey mom.. LOL..
Middle America just stood up and cheered
Only "bad" point I see.. is she's such a strong personality, she overshadowed McCain bad.. LOL...
We'll see what happens, but I think this just made it a lot more interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing her in a debate with Biden..
Oh.. and the Obama campaign already made a mistake... they came out blasting on her saying basically she's just a small town girl with very little experience.......
Um.. yeah..
and she has a gun and a Bible too Obama! LOL

Re: McCain's VP
Omigosh!!! McCain has hit a grand slam with Sarah Palin of Alaska. Smart, attractive, poised, and a pure natural at campaigning. Her conservative bona fides are above reproach. She may very well be the face of conservatism's future. I am ready to open my checkbook for McCain now. (BTW, she is a dead ringer for my wife, although my wife is a few years younger than Gov. Palin). In my household, we are exuberant, ebullient, ecstatic. Finally, one of the common folk has risen to the top. And she's not a lawyer!

Re: McCain's VP
I've been pretty sure for awhile now that McCain will be our next president, and now that he's chosen Palin, I'm glad. She's the first politician I could vote for that I've seen for at least the past 8 years.

Re: McCain's VP
What I like her about her is she seems to be more of a regular person than she does a politician.

Re: McCain's VP
What lack of experiance? She is head and shoulders above Osama Obama and Joe Biden. Being a lowely senator is nothing, she even has McCain beat in the political end of things. She has at least run a state even if not for long. Longer than Obama was a senator before he announced he was running. She has handled large work forces, large budgets and large problems. At the end where the buck stops. None of the other 3 people on this ticket has done that. As to military experiance, again she outshines Obama/Biden. She is Commander and Chief of the Alaska National Guard. Not for long, but 100% more time in a position like that commpared to Obama/Biden. Layoutshooter

I like this Lady! She'll wipe the floor with Biden in the debate, showing him for the spoiled, frustrated little boy that he is.

Re: McCain's VP
ok i was suprised. from the little i've heard so far might be a good choice.
now has anybody else noticed the 'funny' part.
obama - young no job qualifications biden - older than dirt insider
mccain - older than dirt 'insider' palin young - few job qualifications
obama chose biden to 'get qualified' with those who question his experience.
mccain chose palin to 'get qualified' with those who question his (age) experience.

Re: McCain's VP
In an earlier post Ark wrote: "I could just see them wanting to see a woman, any woman, become at least VP so she would have a better shot at President." Ark, I think a better choice of words might be "a better chance" at President. The word "shot" might give some loonies ideas, not that some people need ideas put in their stupid heads. Oh, by the way. If we don't vote for Obama, we're racist. If we don't vote for McCain, we're probably sexist.

Re: McCain's VP
I think she is a good choice. she is a true conservative that mccain isn't. She is the constitutionalist, that mccain isn't. She is for removing illegal immigrates, that mccain isn't. She isn't a career politician, and she isn't worried about taking on the republican party, she has as many issues with the alaskian republican party as she does with the demos up there.
She is a regular person and I don't think the washington elite will be able to corrupt her, and i don't see her just "blending into the woodwork" and doing what she is told. She will carve herself a nitch and she will do a good job.
I think the "party" choose her as a pawn and believe that she will "go along to get along", but i don't think the party has thought too much about the voters she will draw that mccain wouldn't have gotten, like the true conservatives. And those voters will allow her to have a bigger voice in decisions then the party might have thought.
All of that being said, it doesn't change a **** thing about mccain, he is still a RINO, he still lacks true conservatism, on constitutionalism. And he will still screw the american people over to be a " middle of the road" canidate.
I'll still be writing in Ron Paul, but since i know not enough for him to win will, so she is a good pick and just might be reason enough to get mccain elected.

Re: McCain's VP
Ron Paul sounded good till I read his views on the military and forigien. Not a clue on what the world is like. Sounds like he is as good as Obama on that subject. Like his ideas on health care a lot. Put him in charge of that. Of couse, health care is not the job of the president or the government. Layoutshooter
