Political Dynasties In America
Hopefully, the Clinton dynasty is over as Hillary came up just short of securing her party's nomination. We gotta be careful about allowing political power to become concentrated in the hands of just a few privileged families. The United States must not follow Great Britain where the legislature's upper chamber, The House of Lords, grants public office based on bloodline. Holding high public office must not become a guaranteed birthright here in America.
We are a young nation and it is troubling to see the Kennedys, the Bushes and the Clintons play musical chairs with the Presidency and the Senate. It's legal but it's wrong.
Don't be surprised to see Hillary hand off her Senate seat to daughter Chelsea when Hillary retires. I've noticed Hillary constantly pushes Chelsea in front of the TV cameras for maximum exposure. It's not by accident. Chelsea is Hillary's heir apparent. As a Clinton, she feels entitled to power. You can mark it down.

Re: Political Dynasties In America
I think we can expect to see her make another run, depending on what happens the next 4 years.

Re: Political Dynasties In America
You won't see hillary run in 4 yrs if obama gets in this time. If he is at all popular with the left , she wouldn't stand a chance against him to get the party donimation, if he is the ruin of the country that he will be, then no 1 is going to vote for a democrat for the next 8 yrs.
Her only hope in 4 yrs is if mccain gets in office.

Re: Political Dynasties In America
its the money. you need lots of it, or access to it. so 'family' helps. unless a way to remove money from politics is found (and don't forget politics is about controlling money in this country) then 'familys' in the business of politics will exist, and if they are lucky prosper for another generation. lucky for us most of the ones with money aren't needing to stroke their ego by being 'elected' ... ...
look at the clintons..... "started poor -- now rich"
look at obama........ "started poor - - now rich"
look at mccain .... "started ok - - married rich"
the money came from somewhere, and i don't remember any stories about them winning the lottery.

Yeah... did you hear his son married Marion Barry's daughter? They're now the Dingell-Barrys.

Yeah, I have noticed that too. On another note...I remember the days when peeps used to say lil Chelsea was as ugly as a mud fence. Now look at her! I think she is finer than frog hair! LOL

Re: Political Dynasties In America
Take away the Hollywood makeover and Chelsea is probably about the same - not much different than Amy Carter.

Re: Political Dynasties In America
Upon further reflection... I think commenting on Chelsea Clinton's obvious physical defects and appearance would be in poor taste. I refuse to call her "ugly as a mud fence" or the hideous outcome of poor breeding. I refuse to do it. Let's leave Chelsea alone. It's not her fault.

There is some argument that can be made about whether or not Bill actually started out poor. People have often said that Bill Clinton is actually a Kennedy. Back when he was conceived his mom worked in a bath house in Hot Springs and people like the Kennedys frequented those places. Add to that the fact that no one actually knows who Bill's biological father is there is a good chance he could come from a wealthy man who paid his mother some hush money. Who knows.

Re: Political Dynasties In America
LOL, that would explain a lot, Clinton a Kennedy. Maybe Uncle Teddy his Daddy? Must not have got to his mom as fast as he did to Mary Jo. And I do agree, the candidates kids are not a valid issue. Layoutshooter
