Re: The Messiah selling us out
Doing stuff like smearing pig blood on their bodies does nothing. If you want to do something run non stop carpet bombing raids on Baghdad, Fallujah, and Azif. If you do that then you will strike fear. Returning fire when fired upon doesn't strike fear. Letting troops be fired at by people inside of mosques and then forbiding them to return fire doesn't strike fear. Bomb and artillery bombard the mosques if they want to play that game. Trust me if I were runnning it we would be fighting harder, but I wouldn't disgrace our troops by having them carry around pigs blood to smear on everyone they kill. Leo you've most likely never taken another man's life, and if you have you know what's it is like to look in his eyes while he is laying there dead. The last thing you want to do after that is stick around and smear pig blood on his body. Unless you have a warped mind.

Re: The Messiah selling us out
We left Twentynine Palms in 1991 for the original Gulf War.
3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment. Three-Four
My brothers continue to die daily and obviously no end in sight.
How correct you are in regards to the fear factor. Unfortunatly
those whackos have no regard for anyone. I saw enuff direct action
to convince me then we'd have no end till total anilation. We
left without completing the mission and so this craap continues today.
We had the armament to end it then and they still do today. We
got the big stick but hesitate to use it.

Re: The Messiah selling us out
Dispatched, I hear ya. It will be interesting to watch George Bush's remaining six months in office play out. Perhaps, W. will let loose on our adversaries in a way that will truly "shock and awe." Rather, I fear Bush's war cabinet has advised him to play out the clock and retire quietly to Crawford,TX. Why? Because the Europeans and Several Democrats in Congress threaten to take him before the International Court of Justice. The United States should never be a signatory to these trumped-up organizations. George Washington warned us of getting involved in foreign entanglements. Now we risk national suicide by virtue of playing nice. Maybe, W. could let Dick Cheney finish out his term.

Re: The Messiah selling us out
as a vet (us army ret) i might be a little hawkish in my views. our country has a terrible record of action in that region of the world. go in, take a few hits, and withdraw. anybody that thinks the local baddies haven't paid attention to this is dreaming. and don't forget they get the news too. they are very aware of the lack of support we give the military, political bickering, and are willing to wait a bit to get their way .. .. causing just enough trouble to keep things stirred up. did we go in for oil? WMD? create a foothold for democracy? because saadam ****ed bush off? UN sanctions? at this point i don't think it really matters. what matters is we did go in. if we follow or recent record and leave without 'closure' it will be to our harm.

Wrong from the start. McCain likes to say he was an early critic of Donald Rumsfeld's Iraq war strategy. McCain conveniently forgets that he told CNN in September of 2002 that the war would be "fairly easy" and could be won "in a very short period of time." In 2006, he curiously complained that people "were led to believe that this would be some kind of a day at the beach, which many of us fully understood from the very beginning would be a very, very difficult undertaking."
Original or Crispy? Kentucky Fried Chicken lets you pick original or crispy. So does McCain. Original McCain told reporters in New Hampshire: "I would not support repeal of Roe versus Wade." The new, crispy McCain recently said: "I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned."
Original McCain denounced right-wing evangelical Jerry Falwell as an "agent of intolerance." Crispy McCain delivered the commencement address at Falwell's Liberty University
Original solicited and got the support of anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic televangelist John Hagee. Crispy stalled for months, then finally dropped him.
Original McCain shared the stage with anti-gay, anti-choice megachurch pastor Rod Parsley who said of Islam, "America was founded with the intention of seeing this false religion destroyed." (I must've been absent from history class that day.) Crispy McCain left Parsley at the altar.
Original McCain cosponsored a bill with Senator Ted Kennedy to give illegal immigrants a path to citizenship. Crispy McCain says he would vote against his own bill.
Original McCain opposed the Bush tax cuts that "mostly benefit the wealthy." Today's Crispy is all for them.
Original McCain, a POW torture victim himself, called waterboarding a "terrible and odious practice." Crispy voted against banning it.
Original: Close Guantanamo Bay prison and move the detainees to Fort Leavenworth. Crispy: It is premature to close it.
Offshore oil drilling? Original McCain was against it. Crispy wants drilling off the coasts of California and Florida, but, inexplicably, not Alaska.
Last week, McCain called for offshore drilling at an event in Santa Barbara, Calif., where in 1969 an offshore oil rig blowout dumped 3 million gallons of crude onto coastal beaches and waterways.
A displeased McCain supporter, the governor of Cauli-fornia, said he's serious about the ban on drilling. "And we're not going to change that."

Re: The Messiah selling us out
It's hard to believe the Republican Party isn't playing this clip every day in TV ads all over the country. This speech says everything we need to know about Barack Hussein Obama. If someone this weak and naive gets elected president, we'll be at war with Iran within his first year in office. The Islamo-fascists, Chinese, Russians, North Koreans - all of them will know that we wil be vulnerable on not only military, but also economic matters. Imagine being in a trade war with China at the same time we're in a new major conflict with Iran, and having Obama in the White House as our Coward-in-Chief. This video should be passed around the internet repeatedly to make sure everyone possible sees just what he has in mind for us if he's elected.

Re: The Messiah selling us out
OVM,
Don't be scared of China, they have too much to lose if they make a move against us. Their economy is trapped right now (and will be for the next 20 years) by our import market and their 'booming' economy which is forcing a middle class to be created with a capitalist life style. I would venture to guess that if they bit us on the ***, they may see an internal backlash that may send them into the abyss with their government.
BUT...
Be scared of India and Pakistan because Obama has zero foreign policy experience and has come out and said he will invade Pakistan to find Bin Ladin. This is an ally to us, he has insulted them and his message says he does not care about them enough to be neutral. India took notice to this, they are in fact wanting us to invade Pakistan, it will give them a badly needed excuse to also invade Pakistan and then we will have a very serious problem because a lot of our data processing happens over there and people who own Gateways and Dell computers will not get tech support.

boy what better reason NOT to go to war!!!
you were being sarcastic right???
I was just reading about the bombings over there...seems to be an uprising already...if they use the military to quell the people and start summary executions the west will have to say something and take a position....it could get ugly.

Re: The Messiah selling us out
NO I am not being sarcastic, I am really serious about it. People in general don't get this area of the world, they think that the Palestinian and Israeli thing is the biggest threat to us but we depend on a lot of outside work being done in those countries and it amazes me that people are so focused on minor threats and can't see the real big ones.

Re: The Messiah selling us out
Three reason to buy vacation ocean front property in China:
1) bushewacked financed his terrorist recruiting tool ,also known as the Iraq war, by utilizeing the Chinese ATM machine in the sky. Knowing that he would be selling future generations debt to the Bank of Asia,he made sure we would beome a debter nation to the Chinese. He did a very good job and we are now a bankrupt nation. If there is a run on the Banks, there is not enough money to cover such an event. Period. There was when dimlightbulb boy took over from Bill.
2)In less then 5 years,China will not be considered a Communist country. They are a bastion of captolism and will dominate the world economy, like it or not. Yes,human rights are a problem (like here)end managing 1.5 billion people, most living below a poverty level unacceptable to us until recently (living in the family car is now routine thanks to bumble boy) is also a challange.Visit the new China and have a look for yourself. If your not interested,I understand. It was companies like Craftsman tools that handed China the keys to the kingdom buy deciding to manufactur US products overseas.Greed begets no jobs except those the immigrants are willing to do. Puzzling that.
3) Most of the Chinese PHD's who flocked to the Silicon Valley have flocked back to China. Better pay, more opportunity and affordable housing. World domination by the Chinese has already happened in case you have not noticed. Where is just about everything in your house made? Most spare parts ? Building materials and the tools to do the building?
Wake up fools, crosseyed dinglebarry boy and his mutant republicans stallworths in congress sold our ***'s down the river. The trade deficit grew a whopping 29 to 35% under this sad excuse for a government the last 8 years.
4) I'll be catching waves off Hunan Island in a few years hangin with my inlaws. I'll keep my place in San Fran and do half time here and half time there.Come by and have a cold Tising Tao and catch the suset. It's the Hawaii of China.

Ya know, I was going to post something outrageously liberal (aka mindless), as you did, Tallcal. But honestly, I couldn't think of lies big enough. Keep on your California Dreamin, there, Cal.

Re: The Messiah selling us out
You know, the worlds definition of communism is changing anyway.
China won't become a free country in my lifetime, to be exact the next stage for them may be a fascist country but not a capitalist country. In order for it to become a capitalist country, the have to make real changes, which is it won't allow.
Learn the difference and stop listening to CNN.
As for everyone moving back, yea why not - the growth in the US is are negative numbers so they will go where the money is.
AND who is the real dimwit, I think you maybe the one - Bill Clinton and the dems gave the keys away to china, not Bush.
Craftsman tools? They stopped being a worthwhile tool a while ago. It is funny that some of the best tools are from Germany or the US and expensive and are selling. Craftsman wanted to be the masses tool of choice.
by the way Germany had a strong middle class, like China they grew fast under Hitler but it still was a totalitarian regime that controlled the people through fear and punishment.

Re: The Messiah selling us out
And which portion is untrue Hawk? It appears you take exception with my post.
I know,it's not Hunan Island,it's Hainan Island,I should know as I spent my honeymoon there.Hunan is Mao's home province, next to Guanxi province.
My mistake. What else do you take exception to?
Sometimes the truth is more outragious then anything even I could make up. Just remember when your watching NSACAR that every single Carftsman tool in the pits was made in China.Good ol' Red White and Blue baby !!
