    Question Married solo drivers

As a newbie still trying to decide if this is the route i want to go, I have a need to know how solo drivers handle being away from their wife for extended periods of time?

    Thanks in advance

Not a problem at my house! We have been together over 25 yrs and my wife will tell you the last 2 yrs we have gotten along better then we did that 10 before that!! I try to stay out around 21-22 days a month.

One solo driver I know handles it by meeting her husband [who drives T/T OTR] whenever they're in the same area, and sometimes at home, lol.
Every couple handles it whichever way works for them.

Have a cheap cell phone plan, use things like Skype or other video chat services and go home every so often. If you are passing thru while loaded, get ahead of the clock so you can meet for a quick lunch and still deliver on time.

If your spouse supports what you are doing....you figure out ways to make it work.

I've been married for 30 years, I was a driver when we got married, she came from from a trucking Family so she knew from the get go how life would be, now that I've been home for a few months, I'm really getting on her nerves.

Actually JuJU still participates very much...she will map things out...check out receivers locations..make any calls to see if they open or whatever...she deals with any and all problems I might have with E-1..She checks weather looming ahead of me....it takes a load off my mind where I can just drive.

She may not be with me in body but shes my life mate/partner where ever I go...I am never alone...

    Gotta love her...

You see guys..this isn't embarrassing...your mate showing emotion ..you hold hands in public, you hug and kiss...why should this be any different?

You should never be embarrassed when the one you care for displays emotion...you should be proud and say..That's my gal!!!

It will make for a better relationship out here on the road...

My wife is in school and I'm on the road, we try to see each other at least once week. Is how we want to live forever? No, but there is a season for everything and it work out well for us now.

LOL... I heard that! I got out of trucking for a while and ended up divorced. As it turns out, apparently I'm kind of an azz.
