Michigan Ice Fishing
Has anyone been out ice fishing in Michigan yet? I know there is enough ice.

Re: Michigan Ice Fishing
In some lakes there is. Lake Erie is really good for walleye through the ice. It just so seldom freezes really good around here. I have not heard anything on ice conditions on Brest Bay as yet.

I havnt been out at all but my son has been out on the local lakes and he is saying he is drilling between 10 to 12 inches on some of the local lakes.
He also is doin fairly well on the crappie and perch. Only reason I know its true,,the wife was telling me the other day he is using up all my vacumm freezer bags and leaving nothing but 1 bag full of fish behind.

Re: Michigan Ice Fishing
As you know in michigan we generally get what is called "january thaw", Then right back into the freezing. Yes there has been a few times when the Shiver on the river could only be done with boats.
Hey I can remember when the Saiginaw river never frooze due to the polluntants.
Anyway, from Saginaw all the way up to the Linwood area is good fishing

Re: Michigan Ice Fishing
I like the Linwood area. I have often though about moving up that way one day.
